It’s time for my next evolution.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the legacy I want to build and what I want Chapter 35 to become.
When I rebranded to .ca, I repositioned the studio to be more human, heartfelt and intentional about the work we create. Although, I still feel connected to that vision, something was missing. I wasn’t fully lit up by my day-to-day work, and the structure of the business wasn’t supporting the future I envisioned for my family or the studio. When I asked myself where my passion truly lives, the answer was always in the work itself.
So, I’m returning to the reason I started this business in the first place. Moving forward, I’ll be hands-on across every project; from strategy and creative direction to design and ex*****on. I want to shape the big idea, translate it visually and ensure the outcome is as thoughtful as the strategy behind it.
Of course, I can’t (and shouldn’t) do it all alone. The Chapter 35 network is growing, with trusted designers, web developers and specialized contractors coming together based on each project’s needs. When a project requires more than I can build alone, I’ll bring in the right people, not more layers between you and the work.
The second exciting announcement: this fall, I’m stepping into a new role as a sessional design instructor at MacEwan University. I’ll teach one class a week, fulfilling something I’ve always imagined as part of my future. I’m incredibly excited to mentor emerging designers, share what I’ve learned and help shape where our industry goes next.
What does this all mean for the studio?
I’m becoming more mindful of my time and more selective about the work I take on. Every project has to align with the studio’s vision and values. I want to work with heart-led founders who are ready for their next evolution, who value the creative process and who are prepared to invest in getting it right, not simply getting it done.
This is Chapter 35: sharper, more aligned and more focused than ever.
Let’s build your next chapter together.
