I’ve spent over 5 years in the design industry, and here’s what I wish founders knew…

You can outsource design work! Yes, that means that there’s a beautiful option in-between doing *everything* on your own, and hiring a full time in-house designer.

Here’s five reasons you should be outsourcing your companies design work:

having a consistent brand means working with a brand photographer. if you’re in edmonton, you’ve heard me rave about kristen.

not only is she the sweetest person, but if you procrastinate like me and literally can’t add any more tasks to your to-do list, it doesn’t even matter because she takes all the planning, shot list and scheduling off your plate (amazing!!!)

why branding needs to come before *everything* else?

it’s simple. branding is where we create the foundation for your business. i know that sounds vague, but this is what i mean:

• we define your values, who your brand is for, and what they need in order to trust and resonate with your business

• we’ll explore your industry, looking for cliches and overused visuals so that we create something 100% unique to you

• i’ll help you define what makes your business unique, why people should choose you, and the transformation you provide to your clients

• your visual identity will be created with intention. every colour has meaning, and fonts are chosen because they support your messaging. this is then package up beautifully in your brand guidelines for yourself (or any future service provider to easily reference) so your brand is always consistent and that audience trust we’ve worked so hard to gain, is never eroded.

So, I suppose you could hire a social media manager to create templated Canva graphics for you. Or have a web designer choose random colours for your website.

Or….we could work together to create a strong foundation for your brand that’s deeply rooted in strategy and intention. One that’ll resonate with your audience and make future marketing investments (so much more) impactful.

Sharing a lil website refresh for the lovely .photography 🌿

This refresh was all about structuring and organizing content in a way that’s easy to follow, answers questions or objections, and gently guides visitors towards booking a session.

After upgrading to Squarespace 7.1, reorganizing the structure and updating content – I applied her new brand to the website so that the client experience was totally customized and cohesive from Instagram to her website. Incorporating her new brand photos helped build a connection with visitors and infused her personality into each page.

The result? A website that isn’t just beautiful, but also extremely functional 💅
