On UTILIZATION REPORTING

Do you or your managers do utilization reporting? How does it benefit you and your company? How long does it take you to make these reports, and is it worth the effort?

These are fairly common tools for finding overstaffing/understaffing/bottlenecks and helping with capacity planning, but I'm curious how it all works in the surveying world.

We are adding utilization reporting to Job Book. If you look at the screenshot, does this match how you do your reports or is there other information that you usually look at? We also added an effective rate calculation which I'm hoping is useful for finding when your higher-salary staff are doing lower-value work. Don't get hung up on the actual numbers shown, it's just simulation data.
