Last Thursday saw the Montreal chapter of the CEDIA Tech + Business Summit take place, and once again, we're thrilled with the turnout.

In looking back at these three events, it's clear that sometimes the best returns don’t always show up on a sales report. Instead, returns manifest in the spontaneous conversations that strengthen existing relationships, the introductory planted seeds that lead to new relationships, and in the nurturing of the passion that moves the industry forward. The 2026 editions of the CEDIA Tech + Business Summits were yet another great reminder of just how much energy, innovation, and opportunity exists across this community.

We want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who took the time to connect with us at the shows, and to our exceptional brand partners for their continued support. The Toronto edition of this year's CEDIA Tech + Business Summit is in full swing - it's on until 6pm and it ain't over 'till it's over so pass by and say hello if you can! But if you can't make it then here's a few "plausibly live" shots to take you into Canada's premier industry event for , complete with cameos from Karem, Damir from JVCKENWOOD Canada Inc., and our new friends at Inno-Leader LED Technology Ltd.! If you look *really* closely, you'll find Inc.'s Robert Choate, and Origin Acoustics' Jose Coelho. Vanco International's Brandon White and Justin Fothergill from HDA Systems aren't in these pics, but we promise they're both at the show and want you to come say hello! Finally, fellow Sherpateers Scott Donaldson and Steven Rice are lurking in the images - don't say we can't have some fun with these posts!

This has been another fantastic showcase of our industry, demonstrating just how full of amazing solutions, people and opportunities for growth there are.

While the event will be wrapping up in the next couple of hours, we still have the finale in Montreal to look forward to on Thursday this week; if you're an integrator who has not yet registered - miss the event at your own peril! In home theatre design, the room is part of the picture.

That’s the idea behind a recent Residential Systems feature that should resonate with every working on a dedicated home cinema.

A great home theater goes beyond a collection of projectors, screens, speakers and control systems. The finishes, colours, lighting and materials surrounding that technology will directly affect what the client sees and experiences. Reflective surfaces, wall colours and badly controlled lighting can undermine the experience your customer is looking for.

For architects and interior designers, that creates both a challenge and an opportunity. For integrators, it reinforces why they need a seat at the table early in the process (stop us if you've heard us talk about this before!).

The best cinema projects happen when the key players architect, builder, interior designer and integrator (or whatever applicable mix of those pros) are working toward the same goal: a room where the architecture, aesthetics and technology work together as if they were made for each other.

When each piece of the puzzle fits, the technology and the physical room space become one.
