Understanding your own personality and how you operate is pretty essential for well... everything, BUT especially when were talking about running a business.
If your constantly trying to fit yourself into a box that you honestly can never fit into, that's a recipe for frustration, anger, low results and ultimately a feeling of failure and low self esteem.
If you know who you are and how you operate you can find systems that work for you.
I operate a little differently, I'll admit that. I struggle to follow industry gurus organizational system or schedules. I need to do it my own way.
But how do you figure out your way? Reflect, read, research, maybe take some personality tests, be honest with yourself, have Frank discussion with those who know you (people you can hear the truth from without offense). Find others who operate as you do (this step can be the hardest).
Accept yourself for who you are and how your brain and personality work, rather than constantly fighting against them and telling yourself you should be different.
If your a night owl, schedule dinner meetings. If you struggle to sit, ask client to go for a walk with you to discuss things. If your a bit of a worrier, tell your clients that so they're prepared.
You don't have to be apologetic for who you are, make it work for you, find the client that will love you as is and I mean....isn't that why we started our own business anyway? To do it our way?
