For Day 22 of our Community of Good Advent Calendar, weâre highlighting the important work of Covenant House Vancouver.
The holiday season often brings thoughts of warmth, safety, and belonging. For many young people, these basic needs are not guaranteed. Covenant House Vancouver exists to ensure that youth facing homelessness, exploitation, or crisis are met with care, dignity, and a safe place to land.
Beyond providing immediate essentials like food, shelter, and medical care, Covenant House takes a deeply holistic, one-size-fits-one approach to support. Their work includes mental health counseling, substance use support, and dedicated case management, recognizing that every young personâs path forward is different.
This layered care helps youth not only stabilize, but begin to build skills, confidence, and independence over time. Through programs like transitional housing and life-skills support, Covenant House creates pathways toward long-term stability and a brighter future.
At the heart of it all is unconditional love and absolute respect. Especially during the colder months, having access to warmth, safety, and compassionate support can be life-changing.
Weâre grateful for the role Covenant House Vancouver plays in supporting vulnerable youth in our community and for the care they bring to some of the most challenging moments in young peopleâs lives.
