September is National Recovery Month. This month we will be collecting donations to support a local organization Hope For Freedom Society. They have been doing amazing works helping people recover from addictions. We encourage our customers to round up your purchases to the nearest $10 and donation the extra amount to HFFS. Together we can make a difference, even for just one person!
September is National Recovery Month. It’s said that the phrase “Every person, every family, every community” means that recovery is possible for everyone, and that is true. We do recover. We look around and see flourishing, supportive communities full of people who are living proof that beautiful lives beyond addiction are possible. But we also recognize that while recovery is possible for everyone, it is not equally accessible to everyone. To truly address the addiction crisis in our country, in our communities, we must continue the work of removing barriers to access for those who have been historically marginalized and deprived of resources. We must work to end systemic inequities and injustices. We must fight against the stigma that still exists around substance use and recovery. Recovery Month is about recognizing the incredible work of those in the recovery community, and the endless, inspiring generosity of those who support the work, but it is also about acknowledging that the work is far from done.
