Windows 7 to Windows 10. Should you?

Some pro say that it's only important for business reasons. For example, I've noticed that all computers in hospitals, stores, etc are now using Windows 7. They hung on to XP for a long time.

Microsoft has killed support for Windows 7 and is urging users to either upgrade to Windows 10 or buy a new computer.

One note to add to this. To stop some programs from running when you start the computer the method is different in Windows 10.
Right-click on the taskbar and open Task Manager. You may have to click Details to get the whole window open.

Go to the Startup tab and disable the programs there.

The best way to remove programs is to do so in Control Panel/Programs and Features. Click on the unwanted program and choose Uninstall aboe the menu.

Over time, as your computer (and technology in general) ages, your computer is bound to run a little slower than it did when you first got it. But there are still plenty of things you can do to speed things up.

Hello there! If you have the free version of Ccleaner - as I do - you will get it popping up in the lower RH corner of your screen when it's time to update. Do not update from that link! It's not dangerous but you'll likely wind up with some krap you didn't want.

Go to the proper link: https://www.ccleaner.com/

Choose Free Download on the right. Then stay left all the way. The Free Download is on the left. Click that and you get three columns...stay left click Download at the bottom. Then install it.

Hello, everyone!
Facebook often asks me to "engage" with you folks here but I wasn't sure what exactly to do.

What I decided is to post a tip or info about a service I provide.

First tip - obvious to many of you but not obvious to enough people - MICROSOFT WILL NEVER PHONE YOU!!! Nor will any of their "ASSOCIATES"! And they are NOT in your computer!
Please, please just hang up on these calls and pass the word out for other people to do the same.

The most recent versions of Firefox don't have the password exporter.
Here's a Firefox password exporter by nirsoft:

When you go to save the list, choose the file type html in the drop-down list at the bottom of the save window.

PasswordFox is also available in other languages. In order to change the language of PasswordFox, download the appropriate language zip file, extract the 'passwordfox_lng.ini', and put it in the same folder that you Installed PasswordFox utility.

Here we go. To stop Malwarebytes from sending those upgrade popups, open Malwarebytes. The popup will appear. Choose the option to remain downgraded.
A message saying "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" will appear. Click Yes and Malwarebytes will revert to the free version.

Both Malwarebytes and Ccleaner have some new and more annoying ways of "encouraging" you to buy their paid version. Of course, you can do that - there are definite advantages.

For folks that want to keep the free versions I'll look into this further and find out how to remove the annoying factor.
