Smudging - Did You Know?

💨 Smudging is a cultural ceremony for cleansing and purifying the soul. The smoke created by burning the sacred herbs purifies and cleanses the body and soul while bringing clarity to the mind.
The smoke is wafted over the face and body of the person being smudged, either by a feather (ideally an eagle feather) or by hand.

💨 There are four elements involved in a smudge: The container representing water, the four sacred plants as gifts from mother earth, fire from lighting the sacred plants and the smoke from the fire representing air. The ashes are returned to mother earth, not thrown out.
