The Arctic Leopard / Vetra brake upgrade guide is live on the VoltHaus blog.
If you have tried to sort out a brake upgrade for one of these bikes, you already know the usual advice is much simpler than the actual job. "Just get Ultra Bee brakes" skips the rotors, brackets, bolt patterns, hose fittings, clearance checks, and all the other details that decide whether the parts really work together.
We put together the guide Cory wishes had existed before he started. It covers:
- what the stock brakes do well and what to service before replacing anything
- rotor diameter, thickness, bolt patterns, and front/rear differences
- why the bracket is the part that makes or breaks the conversion
- single versus dual rear brackets, including future foot-brake options
- the supported E-Bike Garage route versus the lower-cost FMO/AliExpress route
- the spoke-clearance issue that led to machining Cory's front caliper
- the exact parts, spares, and ordering mistakes from this build
The stock brakes can work. The upgrade path is real too. The confusing part is knowing what matches your bike and how much verification work comes with each option.

Part 2 will get into the physical install, measurements, clearance, bleeding, and ride testing. Questions and corrections are welcome; the goal is to make this easier for the next Arctic Leopard or Vetra owner.
"Just get Ultra Bee brakes" is not an answer. A hands-on Arctic Leopard / Vetra brake upgrade guide covering stock brakes, rotor compatibility, brackets, no-logo kits, and what Cory ordered.
