Negotiations Seminar

What should your resume look like?

There are so many opinions that I hear that are just plain wrong. How do I know they are wrong? The easy answer is that the people I talked to are constantly changing their resumes, and they keep lamenting that they are not getting an interview.

So, how can I help? I don't have time to schedule sessions with everyone that asks. What I can do is show you where to find your answers.

Resumeworded might be what you need to make your resume stand out from the rest. If all else fails, it will improve your resume and help you get past the HR screening bots.

I decided to try out the program using my own resume. As you can see, I got an extremely low score. I am not too worried as what I do and who I know is what counts for me. It's not what I can put in a single document.

Friday funny observation!

Have you ever noticed how our attention spans these days are like a squirrel with a caffeine addiction? It's like we all suffer from "Squirrel Syndrome." One moment, we're all gung-ho about a project, and then, whoop, there goes our focus, off chasing the shiniest distraction!

We're in the middle of a work meeting, discussing important stuff, and suddenly, someone mentions a trending cat video and boom, our brains are already halfway down the YouTube rabbit hole. It's like our concentration is held together with duct tape and chewing gum, and the slightest breeze of distraction blows it all away.

And don't even get me started on multitasking. We're trying to juggle a dozen tasks at once, and it's as if our brains are performing an interpretive dance routine with all the grace of a squirrel trying to cross a busy road during rush hour.

But hey, maybe there's a silver lining to Squirrel Syndrome. After all, squirrels are known for their resourcefulness, so who knows, perhaps we'll stumble upon some brilliant idea while we're darting from one distraction to another. Don't be surprised if you forget that brilliant idea in about 3...2...oh, look, a funny meme!

One ring concept.

The concept is where someone actually answers the phone right away versus keeping you in "phone mail hell." Automated answering is typically what you should not do. Press 1 for this department, press 2 for that department, press 3 for a generic voicemail box that isn't monitored, press 4 to be put through directly only to be sent to the person who is on holiday, press 9 to spell the name of the person you don't know as they spoke too fast when they left their message.

When you press 0 for the operator, you will hear press 1.....

Now, if you ever have a chance to call our office, we will do our best to always answer right away during office hours. You might say I am not a fan of voicemail and believe that high customer service means answering the phone.
