They may sound like certification credentials — but they don’t necessarily mean an ITAD service provider is actually certified.

When evaluating partnerships, look beyond the language and ask a simple question: Are you currently certified — and can you prove it?
Independent certifications provide third-party verification that a provider has met specific requirements and is subject to ongoing audits and oversight.

For IT asset disposition and secure data destruction, look for credentials such as:
✓ NAID AAA Certification — for secure data destruction
✓ R2v3 Certification — for responsible electronics recycling and reuse
✓ ISO certifications — including ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001

And don’t rely on a logo or claim alone. Ask for the provider’s current certificate. Check its scope, locations, and verify it directly through the certifying organization where possible.
