An Intune Win32 app fails.

The first instinct is often to check the MSI, EXE, install command or PSAppDeployToolkit logs.

But what if the installer never started?

0x87D30067 — Error unzipping downloaded content

In this case, the failure happens earlier in the deployment process. The content is downloaded, but Intune can't extract it.

A Forgotten Method for Silent EXE Installation

Sometimes an EXE doesn't provide the silent installation switches you need, especially when you need to capture specific installation options or configuration.

For some InstallShield installers, an ISS response file can solve this.

I recently used this method while packaging an application and put together a practical guide covering how to record an ISS file with /r and replay it silently using /s /f1.
