What does it look like when technology actually gives caregivers more time for people? ๐Ÿ’™

Glen Hill Strathaven in Bowmanville, Ontario has been a home to its residents for over 30 years. When they modernized their clinical documentation with VitalLink, the impact went straight to the bedside โ€” nurses spending less time on paperwork and more time caring for the people who matter.

One story stuck with us: a resident had a fall, and by the time emergency services arrived, staff had already completed a full assessment and captured vital signs โ€” automatically synced to the health record.

That's faster care when it counts most.

Evidence-based care isn't just a priority for Ontario long-term care homes โ€” it's a responsibility. This is Glen Hill's story.

Our team just got back from the Health Connect Partners Reverse Expo for Post-Acute Care in Louisville, KY โ€” and we're still thinking about Ryan Jenkins' keynote.

Ryan, bestselling author of Connectable: How to Move Multi-Generational Teams from Isolated to All In, broke down what today's long-term care workforce really looks like โ€” four, sometimes five generations working side by side, from CNAs to Directors of Care, each with their own motivators and ways of connecting.

A few numbers that stopped us in our tracks:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Just 5% of Gen Z report dissatisfaction working alongside Millennials
๐Ÿ‘‰ That jumps to 47% when working with Baby Boomers
๐Ÿ‘‰ Post-acute care demand is projected to roughly double over the next 10 years

The bigger that generational distance gets, the harder team cohesion becomes โ€” and as tech accelerates, the gap is only widening.

His message? As AI and tech reshape healthcare, the real differentiator isn't the technology โ€” it's the human connection. Bedside presence. One-on-one time. Real communication across the multi-generational care team.

And honestly? That's exactly why we built VitalLink.

VitalLink isn't here to replace the human side of care โ€” it's here to protect it. By automating vitals capture, documentation, and EHR sync right at the point of care, VitalLink gives caregivers back the time they'd otherwise lose to paperwork. Time they can spend with their residents. Time they can spend connecting with each other across generations and roles.

The future of post-acute care isn't tech vs. human connection. It's tech that makes more human connection possible. ๐Ÿ’™

Huge thanks to HCP and Ryan Jenkins for a conversation we won't forget.

Happy National Nursing Week 2026.

For every long-term care nurse who has finished a shift and stayed an extra hour to chart what they already remember in their bones โ€” we see you.

Take post-fall neuro checks. Every 15 minutes, then 30, then hourly. While medications are due. While a call light is on. While someoneโ€™s family is at the desk with questions. The work is precise because it has to be, and you do it precisely, even when everything is pulling at you at once.

VitalLink by Jubo is our attempt to bring charting closer to the bedside โ€” to let the record happen alongside the care, instead of after it. We hope it helps.

But more than anything this week: thank you. For the hands, the eyes, the judgment, and the steadiness that holds long-term care together.

Our team spent yesterday at the CLIQ Innovation Partnership Summit, presented by The Brenda Strafford Foundation and the BSF Dr. Barrie Strafford Centre for Learning, Innovation & Quality โ€” and James Stauchโ€™s keynote gave us a lot to sit with.

His framing: weโ€™re not in โ€œdisruption,โ€ weโ€™re in rupture. The ground has shifted. Only 11% of global citizens expect society to remain stable โ€” and our instinct in moments like these is to reach for solutions. Fast.

He pushed back: spend 55 minutes on the problem, 5 minutes on the solution.

Three traps he named that show up constantly in healthcare:
โ†’ Solutions in search of problems
โ†’ Low-friction fixes that ignore downstream consequences
โ†’ Manufactured problems shaped to fit the tools we already have

What stuck with us most: every system has parts, relationships, and emergent properties โ€” and the relationships matter more than the parts.

In LTC, the relationship between a caregiver and a resident is the system. It's where care actually happens. So when we think about where automation belongs โ€” bedside charting, documentation, the admin layer โ€” the question isn't "what can tech do?" It's "what's pulling people away from the relationship, and how do we give that time back?"

That's the work. And it starts with sitting longer with the problem than feels comfortable.

It's also why we put in the time to understand the problem before building VitalLink by Jubo โ€” designed to ease the documentation burden at the bedside and give LTC caregivers back the time they need for residents, not paperwork.

Thanks to everyone we connected with for yesterday's conversations.

What an incredible week at the Advancing Senior Care Convention 2026 and Senior Care Expo in Toronto! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our team had such a wonderful time connecting with LTC leaders from across Ontario's not-for-profit sector. A big thank you to our amazing customers who stopped by to say hello โ€” it truly made our week! We also loved meeting so many new connections who came to learn about VitalLink by Jubo and our exciting new feature: Ontario's first digitized BSO-DOSยฉ protocol. The conversations around what this innovation means for care teams and residents gave us so much energy.

If we didn't get the chance to connect this week, we'd love to show you what VitalLink and the digital BSO-DOSยฉ protocol looks like in practice: ๐Ÿ‘‰https://hubs.la/Q04dp8BJ0

Two dashed MDS items out of 18 assessments. Thatโ€™s all it took to fail the 90% threshold. The problem doesnโ€™t start with your MDS coordinator โ€” it starts at the bedside. We just got back from the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living Quality Summit 2026 in Baltimore, and our team came away with a lot to think about!

A few things that stuck with us:

The SNF QRP session showed just how thin the compliance margin is โ€” one facility had only 2 dashed MDS items out of 18 assessments, and that was enough to fail the 90% threshold. The problem isn't MDS coordinators. It's incomplete documentation at the bedside flowing upstream.

The QAPI session reinforced something we hear constantly: committees aren't short on commitment โ€” they're short on clean data. When vitals are transcribed by hand hours later, your root cause analysis is built on documentation errors, not real process failures.

And the CMS Fireside Chat made it clear โ€” surveyors are focused on documentation integrity. Survey readiness isn't a binder. It's a byproduct of systems that produce defensible records every shift.

That's VitalLink. Point-of-care charting that automates bedside capture, syncs in real time to PointClickCare, and makes your homes survey-ready as a byproduct of better care.

Thank you AHCA/NCAL for a fantastic event!
