We are ReuseTechBC! We have redistributed over 200,000 computers across the province, supporting digital access and reducing e-waste.

We collect donated computers (and all types of other tech), train volunteers to refurbish them, and then distribute the computers to non-profits, low-income families, and schools. Incorporated in 1995, British Columbia Technology for Learning Society is a registered charity (doing business as ReuseTechBC) that refurbishes and redistributes donated computers for Canadians in need. Youth technicians

are given volunteer experience to refurbish equipment that is then sent to non-profits, low-income individuals, and schools. Our mission is to provide access to affordable technology to Canadians and contribute to the circular economy through reuse.For more information visit www.reusetechbc.ca

With the school year rapidly approaching, many British Columbians still don’t have a computer in the home. This creates barriers to access to education, especially in Bring Your Own Device districts.

How can you help? We’ve put together a list of suggestions:
✅ Make a technology donation: Do you work for a company that is upgrading its office technology? Talk to your I.T. department about donating retired Windows 11-compliant devices to ReuseTechBC.
✅ Tell a nonprofit about our programs: Many nonprofits supported by ReuseTechBC equipment redistribute it to clients who need a device to attend online classes. Know an NPO who should know about us? Send them our way!
✅ Talk to your PAC about buying laptops for students in need: If your school’s PAC is discussing initiatives to fundraise for this year, make sure to let them know that they can get low-cost laptops for students who need one at home from ReuseTechBC.
✅ Share this post with your network: Every share or forward helps! ReuseTechBC needs you to help get the word out!

Technology is essential to so many services today, including government resources, educational curricula, and the advancement of digital skills like coding and animation.

For the last 5 weeks, we have had 5 volunteers from Germany working in our warehouse refurbishing computers and laptops. Today is their final day with us.

“With access to the right technology, she successfully applied for the position and quickly became confident using her new laptop. Her success exceeded expectations: she was not only hired by Statistics Canada but was later promoted to a supervisory role.
