This year, our Indigenous Allyship Committee hosted its second annual children's colouring contest in recognition of the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. Featuring You Are the Land, a colouring sheet created by Mushkego Cree (Treaty 9) artist Hawlii Pichette, the activity invited families to explore themes of cultural identity, connection to the land, and respect for Indigenous perspectives through art.
The response was inspiring.

More than a contest, this initiative created an opportunity for conversations to happen at home and in the workplace, helping connect families with Indigenous stories, teachings, and ways of knowing. It demonstrated how learning can take place across generations and how creativity can spark meaningful dialogue about reconciliation, respect, and inclusion.
Thank you to every young artist, family member, and employee who participated. Your engagement helped transform a simple colouring activity into a celebration of Indigenous cultures and a reflection of our collective commitment to learning, allyship, and belonging.
