What's been happening in my life lately? Picked up a tower in a junk pile. Cmos battery 🔋 wasn't pulled so I picked it up and have plans to put it on the computer bench sometime in the near future

well my latest job is an asus laptop. not sure of the model number. got a charger from amazon for it. and i'm happy to report it powered up.. but there's screen damage on the right hand side.. and the only way to get an external screen is to hook it up to an hdmi port. protected by a pin code.. so i can't log in.. the client said that all of her school work is on it so i don't want to just go w***y nilly install win11 on it yet. i've been able to fire up enlive.org linux on it so i should be able to get stuff off of it.. tried contacting the owner but she has yet to get back to me.. not sure what to do now?
