Samaritan House Training Centre

Samaritan House Training Centre Upgrading skills for those seeking employment or to achieve a high school diploma. Based on the student's needs and goals an individualized program is set up.

Our goal is to provide support to adult learners in reaching their education and employment goals. We offer both academic and technical instruction, computer literacy and basic life skills literacy. Our staff work in collaboration with other adult education programs, employability skills training and work experience programs to provide a variety of options to learners. Student Centered Learning: A

n initial assessment of the student's reading, writing, math and computer skills is done. The student may work one-on-one with a tutor or in a group setting; the student and instructor will decide together which is best.

Our next Age is an Asset session is open for intake!
Running July 8 - September 19, 2024.

Age is an Asset is an employment readiness program designed to equip adults (age 21-64) with essential skills and training to assist in entering or returning to the workforce.
The program is a holistic approach delivered in a classroom setting and includes:

- Resume/Cover letter, Job Search and Interview skills
- Wellness and Health
- Communication and People skills
- Certification (First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Food Safe, Service Advantage - Customer Service)
- Computer skills refresher
- 2 week Work Placement and much more

Our next Age is an Asset program session is running April 15th - June 27th, 2024!

Age is an Asset is an employment readiness program designed to equip adults (ages 21-64) with essential skills and training to assist in entering or returning to the workforce. This 11-week program is FREE and runs four times a year. The hours of the program are 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and includes a two-week job placement to gain experience. The program is a holistic approach delivered in a classroom setting and includes:

- Resume/Cover Letter, Job Search and Interview Skills
- Wellness and Health
- Communication and People skills
- Certification (First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Food Safe, Service Advantage - Customer Service)
- Computer Skills refresher
- Two-week Work Placement and much more

Good morning everyone, with all of the snow we received the Samaritan House Training Centre along with the Samaritan House Employment Resource Centre will be closed today. The food bank will be open regular hours but will be a bit limited, please bear with us. We appreciate your understanding!
