Firmware/microcode updates will of course be released for these (assuming you're on a supported branch of MacOS). FYI we only support Intel-based Macs, not those with the newer M-series silicon :)

Years of Macs use affected processors, but it's unclear if they are subject to the attack or not.

Rather than letting Apple define when your Mac is obsolete, why not take charge of that decision yourself? Better to go with a build of Linux (or Windows) once the door finally closes on whichever version of MacOS your system is capable of running…

Keep in mind that this is only while in Mac OS... you won't be able to boot into Windows (via BootCamp) on a system using an M1-series CPU. As a result we don't support the ARM-based Macs, but continue to support all Intel-based Macs sold between 2006 and 2020.
