A quiet, dreamlike night landscape rendered in a naïve, semi-abstract style. Layered fields, water, trees, and farm buildings unfold beneath a luminous crescent moon, while simplified forms and rhythmic brushwork create a sense of stillness and mystery. The painting balances the familiarity of a rural landscape with an imaginative, almost storybook atmosphere.

The painting makes particularly perceptive use of perspective: rather than relying on conventional linear recession, the landscape unfolds through carefully stacked horizontal planes, while the centrally placed house and pool create a quiet visual axis. This gives the work both spatial depth and a strikingly flattened, graphic character.
Rich greens, blues, and ochres, together with the rhythmic rows of trees and vegetation, create an atmosphere that feels simultaneously observed and imagined.
For collectors drawn to contemporary naïve painting, semi-abstraction, and poetic interpretations of rural Ontario, the work has a strong sense of place while remaining open to personal interpretation.

Yellow Moon depicts Prince Edward County at sunset, where the familiar landscape becomes dreamlike and atmospheric. I was interested in capturing the quiet mood of the countryside rather than creating a literal representation. The simplified forms and luminous colors give the work a semi-abstract quality with a gentle, naive character.

"Lake on the Mountain" is an original acrylic painting inspired by the mysterious Lake on the Mountain in Prince Edward County, Ontario. Bathed in the warm glow of sunset, the landscape invites the viewer into a place where nature and legend meet. Two quiet canoes drift across luminous waters, leading the eye toward the enigmatic lake perched high above the Bay of Quinte.

The painting pays tribute to the Mohawk tradition, in which the lake—known as the "Lake of the Gods"—was believed to be home to powerful spirits. Offerings were made each spring to honor these waters and ensure a bountiful harvest. Through vibrant color, layered horizons, and a dreamlike atmosphere, this artwork celebrates both the enduring beauty of the Canadian landscape and the timeless stories that give it meaning.
