MORE HACKING NEWS:
Turn off auto reconnect on all of your devices that connect to your work network!

DID YOU KNOW: That your phone and laptop sends out requests to connect to your wireless network while you're sitting at any public place - if you have "Auto Reconnect" turned on. Hackers sit in public places scanning for these requests and gather login information when they find them. The best way to know you are secure is to keep "Auto Reconnect" turned off on your wireless network connections.

We hope you know that phones should not connect to the company data network and EVERY business, by now, should have a "public" Wi-Fi that all employee phones, and guest phones and laptops connect to. IP Phones should also be on their own VLAN.

If you’re unsure whether your guest and employee devices are properly separated, give us a call. A quick review today can prevent a much bigger headache tomorrow.

I just received this. It is from a microsoftonline.com authentic domain, but what it is doing is saying my password will expire - if I click "keep my password" it will ask for my username and password or if I'm already logged in, which I am, it will just ask for my permission. Then, what it will do is install an application onto my account. That's what OAUTH2 does. This is a huge scam!

If you get anything you're not sure about, please give us a call before you click! We want to save as many people from these hackers as possible!

Ok, so this just happened. A business got breached on an office 365 account that had access to the company SharePoint account.
The hacker looked through the contacts and contacted a company whose office 365 email we look after. The person that the hacker contacted was told that they would share a SharePoint document with them on what they just discussed. The hacker had created a document that required the client to log in. The unsuspecting person that just got off the phone, received the link, clicked it and logged in and authenticated using MFA and the hacker got the MFA token as well as the users password and gained full access to their account.
Hackers are using more and more advanced techniques to gain access. This one used access from one business account to breach a second company. It was very smart thinking on the hackers part.
This is a very difficult one to tell you how to avoid it. A call to the business to confirm that they sent you the document would have revealed that the call did not originally come from anyone at the first business.
We always say use a different method to confirm that the person sending you something is actually the person you think is sending it. However, in this case, if they call you, you need to hang up from them and call the business using their known business number and confirm that they sent the link. You can never be too careful.
