It is not economical to fix LED light bulbs since they are quite cheap. But they often are repairable and I repair my own for fun.

This vacuum cleaner had an on/off switch full of dust and wouldn't latch on. Luckily nothing was melted so I opened the switch and cleaned it greased it and closed it back up. And it started working again.

This is the head unit from the console of a car. The touchscreen was malfunctioning which is a known issue but the car was out of warranty. I did a swap of the digitizer which goes in front of the screen to enable touch functions.

This is my electronic screwdriver. I originally got it from the thrift store for really cheap because it didn't work. The NiCd batteries had failed. I converted it to Li-Ion and had been using it for years.

Till a couple days ago I mangled the USB port when plugging it in to charge. Today I fixed it with a charge controller out of a disposable "recreational inhaler."

Also upgraded from USB Micro-B to Type-C.

This is a workplace computer that the customer needed upgraded to Windows 11 to keep using it with new security tools.

The problem was it has a second generation Intel processor from 15 years ago. You need a seventh generation processor if it is Intel for Windows 11.

So I had to hack Windows to get it to install.

With such an old system this hack is probably not recommended. The customer may have issues with running software so much newer than the hardware. But back to fourth gen Intel is actually just fine.

Customer laptop came from the store with a corrupted copy of Windows 11. So I set them up right with a fresh install and all the Microsoft bloat removed, AI disabled, and no OneDrive. Just a clean operating system to get work done with.
