et-in-a-Box (IIAB) is an effort to provide Wikipedia and other content via physical media. It is primarily for distribution in places where access to the Internet is limited or controlled. The device includes software which creates a Wi-Fi hotspot that offers closed platform access.
In practice, this means that up to 32 users who are within a couple of hundred meters of the hotspot can connect to the device and access or download its content: Wikipedia slices, medical knowledge, videos and books. IIAB is not intended to further connect users to the Internet or to content, beyond what is presented in the Box itself

Planning Wikimedia Botswana (PWB) Would like to congratulate two of our local Wikimedians , Tracio Khohliwe and Dikunwanane who will be representing our community at WikiIndaba Conference in South Africa, Johannesburg from the 19-22 June 2014. is a gathering of African Wikimedians and other open knowledge volunteers from across Africa and overseas to discuss issues surrounding Africa in evangelising "FREE KNOWLEDGE INITIATIVES" and celebrate some of the achievements made so far in AFRICA to spread free knowledge through Wikipedia.

However this conference features various slots of presentations and panel discussions, therefore our two folks will run a panel on behalf of PWM on "The state of the movement" and outline the various challenges and success we had so far encountered and achieves as a community.

Once again CONGRATULATIONS!!! enjoy every moment with fellow Wikipedians and wishing you a fantastic trip.

Planning Wikimedia Botswana is inviting all Wikimedians from the local community to its 3rd Wikimedia meet-up and it's Editor-a-thorn session. This session will focus on Cleanup,Projects, and Processes then have a discussion on Wikimedia Policies for new-bies. One of the issues to be discussed will be on as well, a conference for African Wikimedians to be held in Johannesburg next month.
