Access changes lives.

On this Day of the African Child, we join Africa in recognising the urgent need for universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene for every child.

At Brastorne, we understand that access, whether to information, services, or essential resources is the foundation of opportunity.

As we continue bridging digital divides across Africa, we stand with every effort that ensures children grow up healthier, safer, and empowered.

Inclusion is not optional. It is essential.

Missed the Webinar? Here's What You Missed.
Building a startup culture sounds exciting in theory. In reality, it's messy, challenging, and constantly evolving.

In our recent webinar, "What We Got Right (and Wrong): Building a Startup Culture That Works," hosted by Brastorne in collaboration with the Stanford Seed Transformation Network and Alpha Direct, we pulled back the curtain on the realities of scaling a company in Africa.

From the decisions that accelerated growth to the mistakes that taught us invaluable lessons, the conversation explored:
-Building teams that thrive through change
-Creating a culture of accountability and ownership
-Lessons learned from leadership successes and failures
-Navigating growth while staying true to your mission
-The cultural pivots required to scale sustainably

A special thank you to Arun Iyer, CEO & Co-founder of Alpha Direct, and everyone who joined the discussion and shared their perspectives. View it now https://youtu.be/NknRIvs9YDo?si=CoDWbgmUryjll4b_

But we're not stopping there...

Be on the lookout for our next webinar, where we'll explore one of the biggest opportunities of our generation: Artificial Intelligence.

We'll be diving into:
-How AI is reshaping industries across Africa
-Practical AI applications for startups and growing businesses
-The opportunities and risks leaders need to understand
-How organisations can prepare for an AI-driven future

What happens when innovation is built for the people who are too often left behind?

This week, we had the privilege of sharing Brastorne's story on CNN's Inside Africa.

What started as a belief that every African deserves access to information, opportunities, and digital services regardless of their device, location, or income has grown into a movement reaching more than 5.9 million people across six African countries.

For many, digital transformation is about the latest smartphone or fastest internet connection.

For us, it has always been about inclusion.

It is about the smallholder farmer accessing market information through a basic mobile phone. It is about a young entrepreneur discovering new opportunities. It is about ensuring that communities traditionally excluded from the digital economy are not left behind as technology advances.

This feature is not only a milestone for Brastorne. It is a reminder that some of Africa's most impactful innovations are being built to solve real challenges for real people.

A special thank you to CNN's Inside Africa for providing a platform to tell this story and to Orange Botswana for being a valued partner in our mission to connect underserved communities through accessible technology.

Can AI Help End Food Insecurity in Africa?

Food insecurity remains one of Africa’s greatest challenges. Climate shocks, crop diseases, rising costs, and limited access to timely information continue to impact millions of farmers and households.

What if they could access localised weather forecasts, market prices, livestock health advice, and planting recommendations directly from their mobile phone?

This is where Artificial Intelligence has the potential to transform agriculture. AI is not a silver bullet. Roads, storage, finance, water, and strong market systems will always matter, but when combined with mobile technology, extension services, digital payments, and farmer networks, AI can help farmers make better decisions, reduce losses, improve yields, and increase incomes.

The opportunity is too important to ignore.

Zambia through the Lense

Behind every harvest in Zambia is more than just produce. It is resilience in the face of unpredictable weather, hard work carried out long before sunrise, and hope that each season will bring something better.

Across communities in Chongwe, Kafue, Mwembeshi, and Chibombo, we met farmers who are not only feeding their families but shaping the future of agriculture in Zambia. From tending livestock to cultivating crops like maize, vegetables, and sorghum, their work drives local economies and sustains entire communities.

These are the faces powering Zambia’s agricultural future. Farmers who adapt, learn, and push forward despite challenges. Farmers who are open to new tools, new knowledge, and new opportunities to grow.

We are proud to stand alongside them, supporting journeys that go beyond farming, into building stronger households, more connected communities, and more resilient economies.

Zambia Through the Lens: Building Trust on the Ground

For many farmers, adopting a new technology begins with understanding how it fits into their realities. That is why farmer mobilisation, practical education, and genuine engagement remain critical to successful adoption. Technology alone is not enough. Real impact happens when people see its relevance, ask questions, and build confidence through direct interaction.

These moments on the ground are where trust is formed and where innovation becomes meaningful.

Across Africa, the AI conversation is accelerating, but the real opportunity isn’t just in cutting-edge labs or premium markets. It’s in solving real problems at scale.

From agriculture to informal economies, AI has the potential to unlock productivity, improve resilience, and drive inclusion, if it is built for context, not just capability.
Africa doesn’t need imported AI models alone. It needs ecosystems designed for:

-Low-bandwidth environments
-Local languages and realities
-Trusted distribution channels

For investors, the question is shifting: Not β€œWhere is AI exciting?” , but β€œWhere is AI useful, scalable, and transformative?”

With a young population, growing connectivity, and urgent demand across sectors, Africa represents one of the most compelling AI opportunities of the next decade.

Zambia Through the Lens

Real inclusion is not built from a distance. It is built in conversations under trees, in farming communities, and in the everyday realities of the people technology is meant to serve.

Across Chongwe, Kafue, Chibombo, and surrounding communities in Zambia, our team met directly with farmers to listen, learn, and understand the challenges shaping daily agricultural life, from access to information to market opportunities and climate uncertainty.

These moments matter because meaningful innovation starts with people first, engaging farmers where they live and work, we continue building digital tools designed for real conditions, real needs, and real impact.

This is Zambia Through the Lens, a closer look at the communities shaping the future of inclusive innovation across Africa.

Brastorne recently engaged with farmers in Zambia across Chongwe, Kafue, Chibombo and surrounding communities in partnership with Heifer International Africa.

We met farmers where they live and work, listening to real challenges, understanding local needs, and introducing practical digital tools built for everyday users.

Real inclusion happens on the ground.

This is the first of our Zambia Through the Lens series, showcasing what progress looks like when innovation reaches rural communities.

Brastorne at the 2026 Diacore Marathon!

This weekend, the Diacore team proudly took part in the 2026 Marathon, showing that success is not only built in the workplace, but also through discipline, endurance, and teamwork beyond it.

From the starting line to the finish line, our team embodied the same values that drive us every day: commitment, resilience, and pushing boundaries together.

We are proud to see our people championing health, wellness, and a winning mindset both inside and outside the office.

A big congratulations to everyone who participated and represented Diacore with pride. The race may be over, but the momentum continues, top runners!
