For many students, access to reliable electricity remains a barrier to learning and digital exclusion. That’s why we created the Chedza Solar Backpack — a clean-tech educational toolkit designed to put portable power, light and technology directly into the hands of learners.

But innovation alone cannot create lasting impact. Partnerships can. 🤝

When businesses, governments, development partners and communities come together, we can take solutions like Chedza to more students, more schools and more communities.

Every backpack is more than a product.
It represents opportunity. Learning. Dignity. Possibility.

𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we challenged ourselves to ask: “How can technology help protect our communities?”

That question led to the development of our first-ever machine innovation — the 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞: a solution designed to combine temperature detection, facial recognition, contactless sanitisation and identity verification to support safer environments during an unprecedented time.

It was more than a machine.
It was the beginning of a journey.

A journey driven by one belief: African challenges deserve African innovation.

As we approach our 10th Anniversary, we are looking back at the ideas, sacrifices, failures, breakthroughs and people who shaped the Ked-Liphi Global story — while looking forward to the next decade of African Innovation Beyond.

𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐇 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 New Era College 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐆𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟏 : “𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜”

On 15 September 2026, Mr Kedumetse Liphi, Founder & CEO of Ked-Liphi Global, had the honour of addressing the launch of New Era College’s Strategic Outlook 2026–2031 as an alumnus of the institution.

Reflecting on his journey as a part-time student serving in the Army, overcoming academic and financial challenges, and eventually becoming an engineer and the founder of an innovation-driven enterprise, he shared a powerful message:

“Your potential is not defined by how others see you, but by what you choose to see in yourself and what you do with it.”

The address highlighted the importance of practical education, entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration between education, industry, and Government in shaping Botswana’s future.

To the students of New Era College: Don’t wait until graduation to start. Start now. Build. Innovate. Solve. Create. 🚀

As Ked-Liphi Global celebrates 10 years of innovation and impact, we look forward to building the next decade together and turning African ideas into solutions that matter.

Before Ked-Liphi Global became a growing African innovation enterprise, there was a vision, a challenge and a determination to make a difference.

Our journey began with a simple but powerful belief: African challenges can inspire African solutions.

One of the innovations that reflects this vision is the Chedza Solar Backpack—a solar-powered schoolbag designed to bring light, energy and opportunity closer to learners.

☀️ From the early days of exploring solar solutions to our growing ambitions in engineering, renewable energy, AI and smart technology, every chapter has shaped who we are today.
