The grand push for "going paperless" has trapped organizations in a chaotic hybrid hell, where our offices have one foot in the digital future and one foot stuck in the paper past. This is not a staff effort issue, it’s more of a strategy issue. Instead of a full, orchestrated wave, digital migration is being done in random bits and pieces...digitizing the front desk while leaving the back office buried in manual files, and launching new software before updating the legal audit rules that still demand physical signatures
The result is a fragmented system that forces employees to run two parallel realities at the same time. Daily operations are now burdened with double the workload maintaining messy physical files while feeding incomplete digital databases that nobody fully trusts. If an uncoordinated digital transition simply creates more chaos than the old manual system, is it actually progress, or just automated inefficiency?
