Following Cloud Carib’s strategic partnership with Gaia-X and Blue NAP Americas to build a Caribbean Federated Cloud, our Greece-based Senior Systems Engineer Panos Pantelakis, and System Administrator, Nikolaos Siomos, recently attended the Gaia-X Tech-X & Hackathon #9 in Athens.

This hands-on event brought together technical leaders, data space ecosystems, and innovators to explore the new Gaia-X 3.0 “Danube” architecture, giving our team direct exposure to the trusted data-sharing frameworks and technologies powering our regional digital ecosystem.

With June 1st in a few days, the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season is officially upon us. The list of storm names is out, but the real question is: Is your data protected when the storm hits?

Case in Point: When catastrophic Category 5 storms like Hurricane Dorian and Hurricane Melissa tore through the region, the Government of The Bahamas didn't go dark. By partnering with Cloud Carib to build a "storm-proof" sovereign private cloud with geo-redundant infrastructure, they maintained 100% uptime, keeping critical national services completely online while the storm raged outside: https://info.cloudcarib.com/blog/the-storm-proof-state-how-the-bahamas-built-a-sovereign-cloud-against-the-odds

Your business deserves that same resilience. Don't wait for Arthur, Bertha, or Cristobal to test your infrastructure. Take control of your business continuity today.

This article highlights a growing global reality: where you store your data matters. When sensitive citizen or financial information sits in a foreign public cloud, it becomes subject to foreign laws, not yours.

Cloud Carib offers a Caribbean-led approach to sovereign cloud, cybersecurity, and managed services, helping organizations maintain control over data residency, governance, compliance, and operational resilience within trusted regional infrastructure.

Read why location matters:

The European Commission is set to unveil rules that could bar U.S. providers from processing government health, financial and judicial data. Driven by CLOUD Act fears and sovereignty goals, the May 27 package aims to redirect sensitive workloads to European capacity. Industry worries about loopholes...

Cloud Carib’s Sean Munroe and Baron Longley stepped up to deliver an impactful session on “Cybersecurity Essentials for SMPs and SMEs.”

A big thank you to the BICA team and all the attendees for driving this crucial conversation forward.
