🎙 In a podcast, Krum Hadjigeorgiev, our Executive Managing Director for Southeast Europe, recently shared the remarkable journey of Melon that became part of Kin + Cart in 2021.

📆 Back in 2000, Krum and two friends at American University in Bulgaria - AUBG started their own multimedia company in Sofia, Bulgaria. At the same time, some of their classmates launched an IT startup. They both caught the eye of an investor who offered financial backing, leading to founding Melon.

Throughout the years, Melon has seen impressive organic growth— building another delivery office in Bulgaria, in the town of Veliko Tarnovo, then in Skopje, North Macedonia, acquiring a company in Kosovo, and later merging with Kin + Carta.

💭 When asked about leadership, Krum said: “With a solid foundation and trust, growth comes naturally. Without it, the journey is far more challenging.”

Despite all the changes, Krum continues to lead our team with unwavering passion and dedication. He said: “I don’t have hobbies—my job is my hobby. I love Monday mornings and am always excited to check my emails and see what the week holds.”

🚀 Beyond leading our Southeast Europe team, Krum has also taken on another significant role. This year, he became Chairman of the Board of Directors at БАСКОМ - Българска асоциация на софтуерните компании. He outlined the association’s ambitious plans to support the IT industry, including the launch of several schools across the country to nurture young talent.
