Our September nomination for Inside Ship.cars is Svilen Bonev - Senior Front-end Developer. This is what he told us:
* Give us a brief introduction of yourself:
I’m currently a Front-End Developer/Project Lead at Ship.Cars. I have an engineering background and subjects such as mathematics, data structures and algorithms are a strong side of mine. That’s why I enjoy working on challenging and complex projects.
* What is the best thing about your job?
I like working on new features and getting instant feedback from our customers when we release them. It’s nice to see how something that you and your team developed is being used and is helping others do their job every day.
* What excites you about the future of web development?
We are utilizing for quite a while the architecture of having multiple JavaScript micro frontends. This gives us great flexibility when working on multiple products that are part of Ship.Cars. I believe that this concept will further develop in the future and will become more and more popular.
* What is your favourite project you have had the opportunity to work on, and why?
Carrier TMS is the first project that I initially started with when I joined the company. We’ve added a lot of new features to it since then and thus the product has changed quite a lot. Tackling all the technical challenges that come when developing new things is the most interesting part for me. From working together with the backend people when figuring out the APIs to designing the code architecture on the frontend side, we always try to think in terms of how we can make it so that new functionality can be easily added on top of what we already have in the future.
* What’s your go-to productivity trick while working from home?
When I initially started working from home I tended to work on very late hours in some days. This automatically means starting late the next morning. I find it better for me to set a time when to stop so that I can continue with my tasks the next day with new energy.
