🌟 Meet Kostia — our adventurous new technician!
This summer, we welcomed Kostiantyn (or simply Kostia) to the Periskal team.
After completing his studies at the Maritime Academy in Odessa, where he specialized in electro-mechanics, Kostia was eager to find a job that combined his two passions: shipping and technology. ⚓💡
At Periskal, he found exactly that.
He started by learning to install Trackpilot systems together with our partner Tresco Engineering, diving right into the technical side of inland navigation systems. 🚢
But Kostia doesn’t shy away from a challenge.
Last summer, he completed his climbing training at Mennens in Rotterdam 🧗♂️ — earning the certification to work high up in communication towers on AIS and RIS infrastructure.
Each year, maintaining and updating the RIS network means visiting almost 100 sites across different countries — a demanding but rewarding task that keeps Europe’s waterways connected. 🌍
We’re proud to have such a motivated and skilled technician on board.
