Last week, we had the opportunity to visit the birthplace of the World Wide Web.
It’s also the place where they accelerate particles and collide protons.
Oh, and they might eventually be able to rupture space and time :)

It is here that we noticed the importance of a distributed file storage system.
The amount of data CERN generates is just staggering and the importance of the research is without question.
The great minds at CERN worked out a system to connect researchers all over the globe and give them access to this data, BUT we would not be Eliovp if we did not see opportunities to make it even more distributed and in this way making it even safer and more accessible then before. Maybe a chat would be nice CERN wink wink.

In all seriousness, a (geek) dream came true! So a great thanks to supermicro for this unique experience.
