– CommuniThin
gs is a provider Smart-City services. Its mission is to leverage existing city infrastructure (e.g. municipality fleets of vehicles, and on-street / off-street parkings) to
collect data in each street daily and transform it to VAS applications for cities and residents.
“Sense and The City” (STC) solution is an IoT-platform that collects air pollution measurements. from the street, and converts the data into concrete measures on mobility and air-quality. The project is run in the city of Brussels (commune of Ixelles). In order to reach street-level coverage, CommuniThings (CT) equips the municipality fleet of vehicles (20) with STC sensor units towards reaching a mobile sensing network of air-pollutants (PMx, NOx, CO, O3) across the city. STC complements existing data from national environmental agencies. It is indicative. STC business model is premised on generating services & apps to cities (B2G), residents (B2C), and enterprises serving end-users (B2B2C). Beyond STC...introducing CommuniThings LoRa Smart-City Offering. Aiming to diversify its offering, CT developed multiple Smart-City solutions, ranging from smart-parking, through fleet management, to Mobile Quality of Service. CT suite of solutions supports LPWAN LoRa radio technology, which emerges as a leading standard among mobile operators and network providers for Smart-City deployments. CommuniThings joined as a member of the “LoRa alliance” in June 2015 ( see also https://www.lora-alliance.org/).
