Our client has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Sr. Network engineer supporting our wide-area (WAN) and local-area (LAN) across multiple domains. You will be responsible for the overall platform transformation, not for operation and configuration. This includes routers, switches, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Wireless Access Points, ISE and VPN concentrators and IDS/IPS devices.
You will be expected to assist in migrating our network with change requests and implementation of new projects to optimize the current environment.
Principal Responsibilities
Life-cycle management of all network components
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for implemented networks
Documenting and implementing new technologies on network environment
Competencies
5+ years of experience in network engineering
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on routing, switching and load balancing experience, preferably in a complex, corporate environment
5+ years of experience troubleshooting and resolving complex routing and switching problems in an IP based carrier network
Some experience working with SD-WAN products
Intimate knowledge of IP and Ethernet industry landscape including IP Core equipment, service enabling devices, Ethernet switch vendors, etc.
Intimate understanding of the design and operation of large scale IP networks from the network core
Advanced level knowledge in routing and switching protocol (BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
Strong knowledge of LAN technologies (LAN design standards and best practices)
Strong knowledge and experience with enterprise networking technologies, such as MPLS, IPsec VPN, DMVPN, etc.
Knowledge about network security and enterprise security, such as DDoS, Firewall, IPS, Malware detection, etc.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure technologies, such as Virtualization, virtual switches, virtual routers is a plus
Education/Training
Education to Diploma standard or equivalent relevant work experience
Cisco or other relevant network data Certification a distinct advantage
