AI may be grabbing all the headlines right now, but it is only part of a much bigger story ⬇️
Alexander Frimout Lead AI and Innovation at ACA Group, recently travelled to Vancouver on a Technology Exploration Mission to get inspired by what lies beyond today’s tech hype.
During the mission, one thing became very clear. The technologies that will truly shape the coming decades are already taking form today. From cleantech and energy innovation to quantum computing and next-generation infrastructure, the future is being built well beyond current hype cycles.
⚡ Energy stood out as a strategic challenge everywhere we went. As electrification accelerates, grid capacity becomes a limiting factor, pushing innovation in hydrogen, nuclear technologies and alternative clean energy solutions. These are not quick wins, but long-term bets with real impact.
🔬 Quantum computing may still feel abstract, but its implications are anything but. Once mature, it will fundamentally change how we think about IT infrastructure, simulation and especially cybersecurity. The rules we rely on today will not hold forever.
🌐 And while tariffs and geopolitics are putting pressure on global markets, real innovation keeps moving forward. Strong ideas and strong products find a way, even in complex times.
Vancouver offered inspiration, but it also confirmed something important. Europe has no reason to feel behind. With world-leading initiatives like CERN and ITER, fundamental research remains one of our strongest assets.
Staying relevant in an ever-faster-changing world is not about chasing every trend. It is about understanding which technologies matter, why they matter and how they connect to real-world challenges.
