At satisexpo in Montpellier, industry experts explored how cloud technology, automation, virtual production and AI are dissolving the traditional boundaries between production and post-production.
The biggest shift isnโt real-time post-production. Itโs the disappearance of waiting. With the right metadata, proxy-based Camera-to-Cloud workflows and automated editorial preparation, teams can start working while filming continues without depending on perfect connectivity or moving full-resolution media immediately.
But technology alone isnโt enough. Reliable automation starts with disciplined production practices, meaningful metadata and close collaboration between teams. AI can accelerate transcription, search and visual creation, but it cannot understand dramatic intention or decide how a story should be told.
The goal is simple: eliminate unnecessary manual work while preserving human creativity and editorial control.
