🎛️ A custom EQ32S for a very special audiophile application.
The idea was to start with an existing EQ32S and adapt it to the very specific requirements of an audiophile application.
The challenge was the filter section.
🔹 Custom HPF — 10 to 40 Hz.
🔹 Custom LPF — 15 to 30 kHz
But adapting the EQ32S was much more than simply changing a few components.
It involved recalculating the filter networks, modifying the circuitry, measuring the actual cutoff frequencies, adapting the front panel markings and thoroughly testing the finished unit.
The customer also chose a custom combination of k**b colours, making this EQ32S truly unique.
This is one of the things I really enjoy about designing audio equipment: taking a product from the range and adapting it to a real-world application and a customer’s very specific needs.
