ENoLL - European Network of Living Labs

ENoLL - European Network of Living Labs The leading organization supporting living labs globally. Empowering everyone to innovate.

25/06/2026

Four days left to take advantage of the Early Bird tickets for OLLD26.

We say this every year and we'll say it again: the best part of OpenLivingLab Days isn't the programme on paper, it's the corridor conversations. The Member who solves your funding headache over coffee. The partner you didn't know existed until you were both queuing for lunch. Those moments don't show up in a brochure, but they're why people keep coming back year after year.

This year we're in Brussels and Antwerp, 29 September to 2 October, exploring "Living Labs Impacts and Values for a Changing World." Whether you've attended before or this would be your first OLLD, there's a ticket category built for you, including student and low income country special rates.

Early Bird pricing closes on 29 June. After that, it will be standard rate only.

What does it really take to build the cities of the future?

Technology is only part of the answer. The real challenge is creating innovation with people, not just for people.

On 25 June, ENoLL joins WMF | We Make Future for the roundtable “Future Conscious Innovation”. Wim De Kinderen, Chairman of ENoLL and Programme Director European Affairs at Brainport Development, will be joined by Gabriella Quaranta, Head of Network at ENoLL, and Asia Guerreschi from Open to Innovate (O2I), in a discussion moderated by Alessandro Montanaro.

The theme is one we think about a lot at ENoLL: when we imagine "the city of the future," we usually borrow the picture from films and books. Cloud City. Metropolis. Wakanda. This conversation goes somewhere more grounded: how co-design and futures studies actually shape the smart societies we are building together, starting with the communities who will live in them.

It is happening live at BolognaFiere, Padiglione 29, Stand C13-D14, from 16:30 to 17:00. Can't make it to Bologna? All our events are now streamed live on our YouTube channel, so you can join from anywhere.

European Network of Living Labs, is organising a high-level policy dialogue that will take place at the European Parliament in Brussels, kindly co-hosted by MEP Mr. Bruno Tobback.

“Living Labs as Strategic Infrastructures for European Policies and FP10: Advancing User-Driven Innovation”

Monday, 29 June 2026, 11:30 – 13:00
Room Spinelli 1G369, European Parliament, Brussels
Rue Wiertz 60, 1050 Brussels, Belgium

The focus is how Living Labs and participatory innovation can become a stronger part of Framework Programme 10 and the European Competitiveness Fund.

Wim De Kinderen, Chairman of ENoLL, opens the discussion. From there, five practitioners share what real-life experimentation looks like on the ground: Alexandra Petcu of UVT Digital and Green Living Lab, Evdokimos Konstantinidis of the Thessaloniki Action for Health & Wellbeing Living Lab at AUTH, Dimitri Schuurman of iMEC.livinglabs, Marta Martorell of Colaboratoris Catalunya, i2CAT, and Josep Maria Salanova of the Thessaloniki Smart Mobility Living Lab. Giulia Campodonico, Head of Unit and SOILL Coordinator at ENoLL, joins them with her own perspective. Martina De Sole, our Director, then moderates a direct conversation with Members of the European Parliament.

It is a rare structure: evidence before policy, practice before framework. We think that order matters, and we are glad European institutions are making room for it.

We would be glad to have you with us.

Some of the best partnerships at OLLD26 will not happen on a panel stage. They will happen over coffee, in a five-minute conversation that turns into a project.

That is exactly what the Networking & Brokerage Event is for. On 1 October, from 14:00 to 17:15, ENoLL is teaming up with Enterprise Europe Network and LiCalab to bring Living Labs, SMEs, startups, researchers, and public authorities into one room in Antwerp for an afternoon of speed networking and facilitated matchmaking.

Looking for a new project partner? A real-life testing environment? Access to a new market or ecosystem? This is built for exactly those conversations, and it is open to anyone attending OLLD26, plus external stakeholders who want in.

Joining is easy: when you register for OpenLivingLab Days, just select "Yes" for the Brokerage Event.
One more thing: Early Bird tickets close 29 June. If you have been meaning to register, this is the nudge.

What does a regenerative future actually look like?

At OLLD25, Martha King from Knowle West Media Centre, Bristol's Living Lab, described it as a future where people and the planet aren't competing interests. They're partners, both able to flourish.

We're sharing her words again because they capture exactly what we're building toward at OLLD26. This year takes us to Brussels and Antwerp, 29 September to 2 October, under the theme Living Labs Impacts and Values for a Changing World.

If you've ever sat in a room with a citizen association, a city official, a researcher and a startup founder, all trying to solve the same problem from completely different angles, you know how messy and how necessary that work is. OLLD26 is four days of exactly that.

Early Bird tickets end on 29 June, just eleven days away, so this is your window to register before the rate changes.

There's a particular kind of energy in the room when co-creation goes right, when people stop performing for each other and actually start building together.

Getting there takes practice, which is exactly why we built the Co-Creation Webinar Series. Two sessions are ready for you to watch right now on the ENoLL Academy.

In the first, Prof. Dr. Dimitri Schuurman takes you back to the foundations of design thinking and shows how it shapes real collaboration. In the second, Dr. Toñi Caro and Francisco Albalá share how to build a genuine culture of innovation and risk-taking inside your Living Lab, with practical tools for the everyday hurdles facilitators face.

Both webinars are recorded, so you can watch them whenever suits you, no need to clear your calendar for a live session.

Watch both here: https://enoll.pulse.ly/o6dphzzckv

What's the moment in your own co-creation sessions when you feel things really click? Tell us in the comments, we would love to hear it.

The Living Lab Community is at its best when we share our work and experiences.

A space within the official programme, the session gives Members and participants the opportunity to present their project, Living Lab, or initiative directly to the international Community gathered in Antwerp.

It takes place on Thursday, 1 October, Day 2 of the conference, immediately after the closing ceremony. Presenters get a genuine audience. Attendees get direct access to work happening across disciplines, geographies, and sectors. Move between posters, ask questions, and make the connections that tend to outlast the conference itself

Posters can follow your own organisation or project's visual identity, no OLLD template required. All poster topics and presenters are featured on the official OLLD26 agenda.

If you are attending OLLD26 and you want to share your work with the Community, contact [email protected] with a short description and a draft of your poster before 1 September 2026.

We would love to see as much of the Community represented in that room as possible.

OLLD26 is coming to Antwerp this autumn, and there's space for your project at the heart of it.

We're offering exhibition booths inside the main conference area, where every networking break takes place on 30 September and 1 October. It's a genuinely good spot to meet people, show your work, and have the kinds of conversations that don't happen over a screen.

Two booth sizes are available, both fully equipped with branded backdrops and furniture.

Deadline to confirm is 1 September 2026.

ENoLL's Head of Projects and SOILL coordinator Giulia Campodonico is heading to the World Biodiversity Forum in Davos this Sunday, and we hope some of you will be there too.

She will be leading a workshop table on co-designing soil health solutions with soil scientists, agronomists, social scientists, and policymakers, because the best answers to these questions rarely come from one room alone. They come from the people closest to the soil, sitting alongside the people closest to the science.

The workshop "Sowing Seeds for Tomorrow" is open to all WBF2026 participants. Room Wisshorn, Sunday 14 June, 10:30. Come as you are, bring your questions, and let's think this through together.
