We are on a mission!
Last week, we had the pleasure of organising an in-depth demonstration of our life-saving sensor technology, aimed at preventing or at least mitigating the impact of blind spot accidents with vulnerable road users.

During a broadly covered press conference, jointly organised by the VUB - Vrije Universiteit Brussel and eXia Belgium, we proudly delivered a comprehensive showcase of our revolutionary Active Sideguard sensors. Based on a pioneering electric field sensing concept, Active Sideguard offers an unsurpassed robustness and all-weather performance, to stand even the most demanding transport assignments such as in construction.

A heartfelt thank you to Thomas Reuliaux and our esteemed lead client Heidelberg Materials Belgium for graciously allowing us to showcase one of their newly delivered Renault Trucks C 8x4 concrete mixers equipped with Active Sideguard.

Together we are advancing road safety standards, also for the most vulnerable ones!

Indebted also to VUB and VUB research group ETRO.RDI, and our long-term partners Imec.istart, PMV and Ethias, for their unwavering support.

Looking back at an amazing week!
We had the opportunity to showcase our revolutionary Active Sideguard blind spot sensor technology at a startling press event, hosted by the VUB - Vrije Universiteit Brussel and reverberating accross all Flemish media and beyond.

Following a brief opening address by VUB vice-rector elect Innovation & Valorisation, Peter Schelkens our very own co-founder and managing director Bart Truyen provided some comprehensive insights into eXia Belgium’s life-saving sensor technology, and its many years of academic research at VUB research group ETRO.RDI. It clearly evidences the impact of fundamental research and how it may create impactful innovation, addressing some of the most important societal needs - road safety.

Broadly featured by VRT NWS (TV1, 13h and 19h news), VTM Nieuws (13h and 19h news), Trends Kanaal Z, VRT Radio 2, Play Nostalgie, Het laaste niews, Nieuwsblad.be, Gazet van Antwerpen and Belga News Agency, news coverage was truly astonishing. Together with our partner Ethias Services, eXia is participating in on June 1 in Kortrijk.

This one-day event, organized by VVSG, is the hotspot for all involved policy makers and passionate administrators, and brings an array of enriching keynote speeches, educational sessions and interactive networking opportunities.

Join the afternoon session B at venue Howest-campus ‘The Penta’, Sint-Martens-Latemlaan 1B (P.1.007), where our managing director and founder Bart Truyen will share his insights into the recent wave of blind spot accidents and how EU’s upcoming new General Safety Regulations address the hazards of city traffic with a range of new active safety features for trucks and busses, in an inspiring keynote entitled “Blind spot accidents – The dark shadow of a successful modal shift policy?”

Organized as part of Expeditie K, the Mobility Festival is the place to be for mobility enthusiasts. Here you will discover the possibilities of a mobility hub, test convenient transport options, find out about the best bike sharing fleet system for your municipality, and expand your vision on mobility.

Not attending the event but you are interested in discussing how to boost the safety of your truck fleet also for the most vulnerable road users – pedestrians and cyclists? Reach out to Bart on Facebook.
