Today, Lidwina vzw, one of the social enterprises that Out of Use has proudly partnered with for many years, opens its doors to the public. 🤝

Together, we work every day towards a more sustainable approach to IT reuse. The team at Lidwina supports several steps in our process, including the careful dismantling of electronic equipment. This enables valuable components to be reused, while the remaining materials are recovered and recycled responsibly.

In this way, they play an important role in extending the lifespan of IT equipment and supporting the transition to a circular economy.

We're delighted to showcase their work during today's open day! You can still visit until 6:30 PM this evening at the Lidwina campus, Postelarenweg 213, Mol.

10 years of partnership for more nature 🌳

For the past 10 years, Out of Use has been working together with Natuurpunt towards a greener future. Thanks to this partnership, more than 250,000 m² of additional forest has been created in Flanders. An achievement we are incredibly proud of.

Together, we make an impact. Here's to many more years of creating new forests and restoring nature! 🌱

Update: there are now more than 25,000 bees living in our beehive! 🐝

When we first set them up, there were only about 10,000. Today, that number has more than doubled. With a single queen laying around 1,500 eggs every day, things are moving fast.

But what fascinates us most?

In just a few weeks, those tiny bees have:
• made over 100,000 flights
• visited millions of flowers
• and collected at least 5 kg of nectar

Quite impressive for such tiny creatures.

This wonderful initiative was made possible by De Honingmijn 🍯 For us at Out of Use, this is more than ‘just a beehive’. It’s a reminder of just how big an impact you can make when you make space for nature.

On Global Recycling Day, we proudly highlight the importance of recycling.

Extending the life of IT equipment means less new production, lower CO2 emissions and reduced pressure on raw materials. That is why we prioritise reuse and refurbishment, giving devices a valuable second life.

When reuse is no longer possible, recycling remains just as essential. It ensures that valuable materials are recovered and reintroduced into the supply chain. This is not a secondary activity for us. It is, and has always been, a core part of our business.

Did you know that today for many critical resources already 30% of the extraction happens through urban mining? This means recovering raw materials from existing products through recycling, instead of extracting new materials from the earth. And this share will only continue to grow in the years ahead.

Reuse whenever possible. Recycle when necessary. Both are crucial to building a truly circular economy.

Today, on Employee Appreciation Day, we want to put the spotlight on our two battery experts: Rudi and Bram.

Together, Rudi and Bram form an indispensable team in our battery dismantling department. What makes this duo so special? They are the perfect bridge between generations. While Rudi is our most experienced veteran, Bram, as our youngest team member, brings fresh energy to the floor every single day.

Their responsibility is significant: safely dismantling and discharging critical EV batteries according to the strictest standards. This requires precision, expertise, and constant focus—tasks that Rudi and Bram handle in exemplary fashion. They work with the necessary seriousness when required, and an infectious enthusiasm that inspires us all.

Rudi and Bram, thank you for your dedication, your craftsmanship, and for being such great colleagues!

Dankzij onze klanten die hun recyclageopbrengst doneerden aan Natuurpunt, konden we dit jaar opnieuw bijdragen aan extra natuur!

Tijdens onze Out of Use boomplantdag in Stokrooie hebben we samen met onze klanten weer 1 hectare natuur aangeplant! We plantten inheemse soorten zoals gaspeldoorn, brem, zomereik, wintereik, lijsterbes, meidoorn, sleedoorn en sporkehout, die de biodiversiteit versterken en de lokale fauna ondersteunen.

Een enorme dankjewel aan iedereen die hieraan heeft bijgedragen, van donateurs tot planters! Dit stukje natuur verdwijnt nooit meer! 🌱

Grâce à nos clients qui ont fait don du produit de leur recyclage à Natuurpunt, nous avons pu à nouveau contribuer à la nature cette année !

Lors de notre journée de plantation d’arbres Out of Use à Stokrooie, nous avons planté 1 hectare de nature supplémentaire avec nos clients et partenaires ! Nous avons planté des espèces indigènes telles que l’ajonc, le genêt, le chêne pédonculé, le chêne sessile, le sorbier, l’aubépine, le prunellier et la bourdaine, qui renforcent la biodiversité et soutiennent la faune locale.

Un immense merci à tous ceux qui ont contribué, des donateurs aux planteurs ! Ce morceau de nature ne disparaîtra jamais. 🌱
