Hey, I get u 🥲 (read caption)
🌍🔥 the sustainable struggle is real. Often being more sustainable (for me atleast) also means putting down more money. If u don’t agree, let’s discuss in the comment section 🙈
💌 I have also bought cheaper cards to give to my friends and fam bc they sparked joy and were well… cheaper.
🤷🏽♀️ Tbh do not understand how ppl can sell cards for 1€ and make a living - maybe they could print a massive stock (space I don’t have and/or money I do not want to risk atm)? maybe they are keeping it as a side hustle?
⁉️ Other important questions: Was the paper sustainably sourced? Is it recycled paper or virgin? Who made the paper? Where was it printed?
💰 for this reason, I wanted to give you a breakdown of all my costs and how much really goes into my own pocket when you buy a card online:
4,5€ for my card that is
* made with recycled paper and seeds ♻️
* made at a staff-focused manufacturer in South-Africa 🐘
* designed by me on my iPad w/ ✏️
* printed in Ghent 🌸
* stocked in my study at home 🔒
* related to charity 💸
the costs:
* 1,3€ print/manufacturing costs
* 0,7€ donation to charity
* 0,1€ online payment cost
* 2,4€ personal profit (i.e. covers my designing/administration time, accountant, dropbox/photoshop yearly fees, market stand fees, transport to those markets, social media marketing time, etc)
💸 I’ve tried to put the price as low as possible to be economical for the average consumer while being respectful to myself as well 🙏🏽
🥲🥲🥲 my cards are the easiest to sell but they do not bring the dough home yet as I am selling 2 cards a week lololol
🛒 in shops I get even less, but will share more about that laterrrr
