Take a look behind the scenes at our second warehouse and atelier, guided by Ellen.
In this video, she gives a small tour through the space and shows part of the process behind one of our current custom projects. At the moment, we’re handcrafting a batch of candles, fully tailored to fit the atmosphere and needs of the project they were designed for. From assembly to finishing touches, every piece is carefully made by hand in our atelier. Keeping part of the production in house allows us to stay flexible, pay attention to detail, and create solutions that are truly made for the project they belong to.

A look behind the scenes in our atelier, where Yorick is milling aluminium components for our Starguides. We try to keep as much of the production process in house as possible. By handling machining, assembly and development ourselves, we maintain full control over quality, timing and every technical detail that goes into our products. It also gives us the flexibility to prototype faster, fine tune components when needed and ensure every piece leaving the atelier meets the standards we aim for.

Lux Lumen worked on the lighting for the new RTL Nieuws studio in the Netherlands, where the focus shifted towards a more interactive and warmer environment.

By combining thoughtful lighting with richer materials and a refined lighting approach, the studio creates a stronger sense of connection for viewers at home. The result is a space that feels more human, more inviting, and closer to the stories being told.

A key element of the project was the integration of the decor design, developed as a fully assembled set concept. Extensive use of LED lines and custom LED control systems was implemented throughout, carefully adapted to work seamlessly with the green key environment. The studio features full green key walls, with LED lines subtly integrated into curved structures, creating a dynamic and immersive visual flow.

The green key setup itself was treated as an active element in the design. Precise measurement of the green wavelength ensured perfect calibration, with custom-printed fabric tailored to achieve optimal results on camera.

A discreet lighting setup for the abbey of Fontgombault.

Together with the Benedictine monks, we created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that respects the silence and architectural beauty of the church.

Over 140 StarEyes, StarEye Maxis, PowerEyes and StarPoints are carefully positioned to provide reading light while subtly highlighting the space, without impacting the historical structure.

Wireless Casambi control allowed the monks to control easy with precision.

For the “TikTok Tobias” videoclip by K3, we created custom smartphone-shaped neon LED frames, each individually controlled with RGBW.

Behind every frame, two separately addressable slim tunable white keylights were added to subtly highlight the K’s on camera.A setup designed for flexibility, precision and a strong visual identity on screen.

Custom engineered evacuation lighting system for the WOLF Coaster at Plopsa Deutschland. The request was clear: create a discreet system that matches the coaster’s color and doubles as a cable duct for speakers and IP cameras.

Lux Lumen designed a camouflaged aluminium profile in the exact RAL color of the ride, functioning as both cable tray and evacuation lighting. Every detail was finished in the same tone, including watertight encapsulated fixtures, control boxes and mounting brackets. For additional safety the system was built with full redundancy.

We’re proud to announce that the Iona Abbey project, featuring Lux Lumen’s handmade LED candles, has won the , Platinum in London.

Commissioned by The Iona Community and brought to life by lighting designer , the project replaced paraffin candles with sustainable LED alternatives, preserving the Abbey’s timeless atmosphere while ensuring safety and accessibility.

A recognition that highlights how candlelight, innovation and heritage can go hand in hand.
