KOSMONAUT HAS CLOSED ITS DOORS

At the end of February 2021, Kosmonaut Production has ended its activities.

Kosmonaut was founded with the vision of helping out and supporting artists on many different levels, from production via funding to artistic input. We’ve been working on this for seven wonderful years now, during which we have encountered many great people.

As in many organisations, our collective ambition through the years has shifted. Kosmonaut developed and changed, as did we – the founders of Kosmonaut. We feel that, for ourselves, the time has come to explore new possibilities, look at things from a different perspective and do things a bit differently.

We will be forever grateful for the time we had together with our artists, partners and other collaborators for all the support we received both in Belgium and abroad. We feel deeply connected to the cultural field and wish the young, the beginning, the individual artists the strength to continue their important work – even more clear in our current times.

As we start our new endeavours in the cultural sector, we want you to know that our doors will always be open to you. This is not a goodbye, but a see you later!

KOSMONAUT SLUIT DE DEUREN

Eind februari heeft Kosmonaut de deuren gesloten.

Kosmonaut werd opgericht met de visie om artiesten te helpen en hen te ondersteunen op verschillende niveaus, van productie via funding tot artistieke input. Zeven fantastische jaren werkten we aan deze missie en ontmoetten we heel wat geweldige mensen.

Net als in vele organisaties veranderde onze collectieve ambitie doorheen de jaren. Kosmonaut ontwikkelde zich en veranderde – net als wij, de oprichters van Kosmonaut. We voelen dat de tijd nu dan ook is gekomen om nieuwe paden te betreden, om zaken vanuit andere perspectieven te bekijken en anders aan te pakken.

We zullen echter voor altijd dankbaar blijven voor de tijd die we hadden met onze artiesten, collega’s en andere partners en voor de steun die we kregen, zowel in België als daarbuiten. We voelen ons diep verbonden met de cultuursector en we wensen de jonge en beginnende makers, de individuele artiesten alle sterkte toe om hun zo belangrijke werk verder te zetten – iets dat in de huidige crisis nog extra duidelijk is geworden.

Nu we starten aan nieuwe uitdagingen in de cultuursector willen we je laten weten dat onze deuren blijven openstaan. Dit is geen vaarwel, maar een tot ziens!

Happy New Year!! Maybe 2021 be filled with hugs, kisses and visits to the theatre!

To kick off this year, we're collaborating with Kunstenpunt and HIROS to organise TO BE CONTINUED, an online network meeting. You will discover new work and engage in conversation with artists and other programmers about their plans and yours. Together, we turn our eyes to the future.

Corona hakt er stevig in, ook financieel. Ondanks alle steunmaatregelen vallen steeds meer kunstenaars en anderen met een onregelmatig inkomen door de mazen van het net. State of the Arts lanceerde daarom SOS RELIEF, een tool voor onvoorwaardelijke financiële solidariteit, van persoon tot persoon. Ontdek hoe het werkt via http://www.sosrelief.net

Corona is hitting us hard, also financially. Despite all the support measures, more and more artists and other people on irregular incomes are falling through the net.
