For me, every new client is a new experience.
Today, I had a discussion with a client who was referred by one of my previous clients. He was looking for a Canva designer who could create some templates for him that he could later customize according to his needs.
Honestly, this is pretty common work for me nowadays. I’ve worked on similar projects several times before. So, I asked him about his requirements for the templates.
But when I learned more about what he actually wanted, I was genuinely surprised.
He wasn’t just looking for templates for his own regular use. He actually plans to sell those templates on a few marketplaces. And judging by his confidence and the way he talked about it, I could tell that he’s already earning a good amount from it.
So, why am I sharing this?
Honestly, I don’t know exactly what path he is following, how he started, or whether the same approach is possible from Bangladesh. But the thing I learned from this conversation is something I think many of us need to remember.
Maybe you’re a good designer, but you’re frustrated by AI and everything it can do.
Maybe you feel like your skills are becoming less valuable.
But perhaps the real problem is that we’re not focusing enough on our own skills. More importantly, we’re not trying hard enough to find out where and how those skills can actually make us money.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a designer, developer, writer, marketer, or anything else.
You just need to find a path that matches the skills you already have and then work hard for it.
No excuses.
Don’t overthink what might happen.
Don’t stop because the industry is changing.
Instead, ask yourself:
“What am I really good at, and where can I use that skill?”
Then start looking for the right path.
I believe there is always a way that is a good fit for you, waiting for you from Allah. 🤲
You just have to keep looking, keep learning, and most importantly, don’t stop trying.
