Dhaka Metropolitan Police undertook a project to bring Dhaka city under CCTV surveillance system to provide security. Earlier DMP organized a discussion meeting in Gulshan where representatives from Gulshan Society, Baridhara Society, Niketan Society and heads of various private sector business organizations were present. In the meeting, it was revealed that due to paucity of funds it is unable to
install CCTV camera. DMP sought help from community organizations and private business organizations’ for implementing the project. Under an MOU between the DMP and the Societies, a special committee called “Law & Order Coordination Committee” was formed with Mr. The committee comprise leaders from 4 residents/community Organizations – Gulshan Society, Baridhara Society & Niketan Society & also Gulshan Youth Club. A.K.M Rahmatullah gave overall leadership to the committee. The committee was formed to facilitate & coordinate all activities leading to installation & oparetion of CCTV Surveillance Cameras. The LOCC worked for several months to design & develop an integrated CCTV Surveillance Project in line with the DMP master plan. On Dec 24, 2014, a fund raising meeting was organized where a detailed Project Proposal was submitted by the Convenor of LOCC Mr. Hassan.
• Law & Order Coordination Committee was mandated by DMP to implement The Project for ensuring the safety & security of the people/area.
