The parliamentary elections are being held in Brazil on October 4. On the occasion of the election, candidates are campaigning directly and through social media. In addition to seeking votes themselves, their supporters are also seeking votes.
To seek votes, candidates are creating digital frame links with their photos and ballot numbers. They are creating these links and sharing them through various media, including WhatsApp. They are also encouraging supporters to create such frames themselves by providing links to create frames. Many candidates are taking help from the website Supporters Frame, created in Bangladesh, for this purpose. So far, more than 12 candidates have used this platform in their election campaigns. Among the users are ministers and MPs of the current Brazilian government.
Supporters Frame Dot com is a website of Bangladeshi software company Bangla Puzzle Limited. Nadim Majid, CEO of this organization, said, “In Bangladeshi meetings, reunions or election campaigns, many candidates or their campaign manager create links to frames from various foreign websites. Then this idea came to mind. It seemed that we could create such a website ourselves. That is why we took this initiative.”
Although this initiative was taken keeping in mind the convenience of Bangladeshis, it is seen that almost all the users are from different countries outside the country. This website has already gained popularity in various countries including Indonesia, Philippines, Brazil, Nigeria, Ivory Coast.
However, a lot of users have been coming from Brazil for the past week. Many of the candidates there are using this website to create frames and are asking them to share their links on various social media, download them and promote them.
In this context, Nadim Majid said, “Sometimes many users knock on our WhatsApp. They do not understand languages other than Portuguese properly. While creating this website, we have made it in such a way that users can easily upload and download frames. As a result, we are getting good response from Brazil even though the website is in English.”
It is worth noting that anyone can upload their frames for free at SupportersFrame.com. There is no fee to download them either.
