Lenovo announces Yoga 3 Pro- Like this new hinge design, Inspired by Fine Watches?

The Yoga 3 Pro is 17% thinner, and 15% lighter than the Y2P, with Lenovo claiming that the change in results has it "weighing less than a bottle of water". We still have the 13.3-inch 3200x1800 QHD+ display, which was super crisp on the Y2P. Lenovo has spent time improving the already great hinge design, with the Y3P featuring a "watchband" hinge that Lenovo claims is "hand-assembled from more than 800 individual pieces of steel and aluminum".

Inside, we have Intel's Broadwell-based Core M-70 processor running the show, backed up with up to 8GB of RAM (still no 16GB, Lenovo?), and up to 512GB of SSD. The company has fixed the Wi-Fi issue on the Y3P, baking in a new 5GHz 802.11ac chip into the Yoga 3 Pro. Lenovo has also improved the software inside of the Y3P, with something it calls "Harmony" that automatically adjusts settings to optimize whatever software you're using. If you were to be reading an e-book for example, Lenovo's Harmony software will "change the brightness and color temperature according to the environment lighting". If you are watching a movie, Harmony will automatically adjust the audio settings to give you a better sense of immersion.

All of this arrives in a package that starts at $1,349 directly from Lenovo's website, or from Best Buy at the end of the month. The new Yoga 3 Pro will be available in three colors: silver, orange, and gold. At this price, you're getting a machine that destroys the Apple MacBook Pro, even with its Retina display, it's still not a touchscreen. Something else surprising: Lenovo was first out of the gate with the Broadwell- based Core M processor, and not Apple... which is, well, very interesting to say the least.

Why Microsoft Skipped The 9?

New Rumors Claim That Microsoft Skipped ‘Windows 9′ Name Because Of Legacy Code Compatibility Issues. Microsoft surprised everyone by announcing ‘Windows 10′ as their name for the upcoming version of Windows few days back. But why did Microsoft decide to skip the most obvious name ‘Windows 9’? According to latest reports, Microsoft decided to go with Windows 10 branding to avoid issues related to Windows 95/Windows 98 legacy code. Microsoft dev here, the internal rumours are that early testing revealed just how many third party products that had code of the form if (version.StartsWith(“Windows 9″)) { /* 95 and 98 */ } else { and that this was the pragmatic solution to avoid that. If Microsoft named it as Windows 9, all classic apps with the above code structure will treat it as either Windows 95 or Windows 98. So, Microsoft decided to avoid it by naming it Windows 10.

Note That Its Not A Confirmed Reason, Its Just A Probable Report.

skips Windows 9, jumps straight to Windows 10.
The next major Windows Phone version will also be Windows 10.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II with New Autofocus System Finally Makes a Debut

The new EOS 7D Mark II brings a lot of new or improved features to the table, as one would expect in case of a next-gen product like this.
Canon EOS 7D Mark II brings a whole host of improvements.

First and foremost, we should mention that the Mark II takes advantage of a new autofocus system with 65 autofocus points (all are cross type to deliver advanced levels of sensitivity in portrait and landscape mode).

The 7D Mark II features a 20.2MP CMOS sensor, which is the same as the one the EOS 70D was built around.

Canon has jumped over a generation in the processor department, where we now find a Dual Digic 6 chip (instead of the Digic 4, like with its predecessor), so the camera is bound to perform a lot better. It’s capable of shooting 10 framers burst shooting, which is in league with its new and fast autofocus system.

The 7D Mark II has been built to shoot in all sorts of conditions – bright light, low light, you name it. The shooter ISO range is one of 100-16,000 and users will be able to push things up to 51,200 is they really need it.

The Canon EOS 7D Mark II does not have a tilting screen
Even if the competition seems to have taken a liking to tilting LCDs, Canon is sticking to a fixed 3-inch panel that’s not a touchscreen.

However, it does have a large optical viewfinder with a full 100% view.
The new EOS 7D II takes advantage of built-in GPS, so photographers can geo-tag their work, something that will come in handy when cataloguing images.

In the video department, we have to mention the 1080p capturing feat that can be done to up to 60fps. Canon has added a new anti-flicker mode so photographers wouldn’t have to worry about things such as flickering lights popping up in their shots.

The spec list goes on to include a microphone, headphone jack, and clean HDMI out, USB 3.0. It’s also worthy to note that you can sync two cameras too.

The camera is compatible with UDMA cards, SD, DSHC and SDXC memory cards.

Those thinking of purchasing the new Canon DSLR will also be able to take advantage of a Speedlite transmitter for controlling flashguns off camera (Canon ones, of course).

The camera is made of magnesium, so it’s pretty sturdy and is also four times more dust- and weather-resistant than the original 7D.

Note the camera is compatible with older packs as well, but we are yet to find out how long the camera life actually is. As you can see, the new 7D Mark IIlooks pretty impressive, but the price is quite hefty.
Canon will start selling the new DSLR starting this November for $1,799 / €1,388 body only and $2,149 / €1,659 if you want to grab it with a 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens.

New Canon PowerShot GT X

The shooter arrives with the overly popular 1-inch sensor that has captured the attention of a lot of product makers. The GT X has a 20.2MP sensor and boasts a range of 125-12,800. the camera takes advantage of a Digic 6 image processor. The lenses offer a 4.2x optical zoom affair with 24-100mm equivalent, and a max aperture of f/1.8 to f/2.8.

The camera has an LCD touch screen with 1,040,000 dots, and this is where the selfie purpose becomes apparent because the screen can flip with a full 180 degrees, letting you see the angles and light in which you’re about to perform some photographic self-love.

The camera takes advantage of a 31-point AF system with maximum 6.5fps and can shoot 1080p video at 60fps. On top of that, you’ll find built-in Wi-Fi onboard.

The GT X is due out in October, with a price tag of $699 / €541.

New PowerShot SX60 HS

This might be the most awaited new member of the PowerShot family. The camera has been delayed for various reasons but finally it has made an appearance into the wild.
This is a super-zoom camera coming in with a 65x capability which translates into a focal range of 21-1356mm.

The device takes advantage of a 16.1-megapixel CMOS sensor working in concert with Digic 6 processor.

The SX60 HS boasts the Zoom Framing Assist function, which gives photographers a wider field of view in the viewfinder, so you’ll able to track your subject even in the most awkward angles.

Samsung NX1 Arrives with APS-C Backside-Illuminated CMOS Sensor, 4K.

Say hello to the Samsung NX1 compact mirrorless. Now, the camera has finally become official and it’s quite a beast. It’s clear that Samsung is hoping to make an impression on the pro market here, and who knows – the NX1 might be just the right way to do it.

The camera is a DSRL-style kind of device, maybe a tad smaller, coming with an electronic viewfinder. Samsung makes use of an OLED display that has a super-high resolution of 2,260k, which is pretty impressive.

The NX1 takes advantage of a new APS-C format CMOS sensor, but the perk is that it also takes advantage of back-illumination technology that’s characteristic of the compact camera market. In basic terms, this means that the camera will be able to capture more light.

The NX1 has a NX AF System III autofocus that allows photographers to take photos of their subjects regardless of the fact that they are moving quickly. The AF Assist Beam allows photographers to better focus on subjects in low-light conditions by virtue of a light beam that can bounce off the subject up to 15 meters.

The sensor is one to take advantage of 28 million pixels, so we can say that camera offers one of the highest resolutions from the APS-C bunch.
Under the hood of the camera lies a new DRIMe V Image Processor, which Samsung says should bring about improved color reproduction and low noise levels, so pixelation shouldn’t be much of a problem for you.

Samsung NX1 is a 4K-ready camera
In the video department, the NX1 can shoot up to Ultra HD resolution and the output is stored on a memory card in HEVC H.265 codec. So the NX1 can shoot both 4K (3,840 x 2,160) at 30 frames per second and Ultra HD (4,096 x 2,160) at 24fps.

Surely, if you’re content with HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080) the camera can do that too, at 24, 30, or 60 fps.
When you're done, you can even stream your footage via Wi-Fi in case you are the owner of a Samsung Ultra HD TV.

The camera has a $1,500 / €1,161 price tag for the body only version, but Sammy has also rolled out the NX 50-150mm F2.8S IOS lens, so you will need to spend more cash if you want those too.

Google launches Android One in India with three new smartphones.

After announcing it first back at I/O 2014, today finally launched the first devices in India.

The first three phones to be launched are the Karbon Sparkle V, Micromax Canvas A1, and Spice Dream UNO. The Dream UNO is the cheapest at INR6,299 ($103), while the Sparkle V costs INR6,399 ($105) and the Canvas A1 costs INR6,499 ($106).

In terms of specifications, all three phones are based on Google's reference design, and as such are pretty much identical. All three have a 4.5-inch, 854x480 resolution IPS display, MediaTek MT6582 SoC with 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU and Mali 400 MP2 GPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage space with microSD card slot, 5 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, FM radio, dual SIM support, and replaceable 1,700mAh battery. The only differences will be in the design and minor software enhancements.

The best thing about these phones is that they all run stock version of Android, 4.4.4 KitKat in this case. The phones will get OS updates directly from Google for two years since launch. These phones will also be first in line with the Nexus devices to get Android L, or any future release.

Another interesting feature is that Android One users will be able to download and watch YouTube videos offline, something not yet available on any Android device. They will also get one year free subscription to content on Google Play Newsstand. Apart from this, the individual online stores selling these phones also have additional offers available, including financing options, discounts on accessories, and free memory card.

India is just the first country to receive Android One. Google will be bringing Android One devices to other countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines and South Asia (Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) by the end of the year, with more countries to follow in 2015.

There will also be other Androd OEMs, who will be joining Micromax, Karbonn, and Spice later. These include Acer, Alcatel Onetouch, ASUS, HTC, Intex, Lava, Lenovo, Panasonic, Xolo, and Qualcomm.

Android One is a great initiative by Google to bring smartphones to the masses. But with devices like Xiamomi Redmi 1s and Moto E (which are similarly priced and offer better specs) already on the market, not to mention the lack of availability of these phones outside the aforementioned online retailers, we would have to wait and see how successful it is.
