"𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬" is great advice if someone else is cleaning up the mess.
For the actual builders? For the engineers maintaining what gets shipped? For the users who encounter the bugs?

Not so great.

I've spent 10+ years building software. The fastest teams I've seen aren't the ones who skip steps — they're the ones who've gotten so good at the right steps that they're fast by default.

Testing. Code review. Proper architecture upfront. These aren't things that slow you down. They're things that prevent the slowdowns that come from doing everything twice.

Hot take: TypeScript isn't just a developer preference. It's a business decision.
Here's what I mean.

When you build a product in JavaScript without types, the codebase is fine at first. But 18 months later, when you're onboarding a new engineer or refactoring a core feature, you're spending days figuring out what each function expects and returns.
TypeScript encodes that knowledge directly in the code. Future you, future engineers, and the compiler all benefit.

At NerdDevs, we default to TypeScript on every serious project. Clients get a codebase they can actually hand to someone else without a survival guide.
Is it slower at first? A little. Is it worth it? Always.

My honest answer: probably. But not the way you're thinking.
The mistake most teams make is treating AI as a feature — something to bolt on and announce. "We now have AI!"

The teams that get it right treat AI as infrastructure. It goes in the places where it makes the user experience genuinely better, handles things humans shouldn't have to do manually, and stays invisible when it's working.
