English Version
For more than five years, AyaNext.com served as the official domain of my organization. I originally registered the domain through Namecheap in 2021 and renewed it consistently every year without interruption.
At a later stage, I decided to transfer the domain to another hosting provider. I completed all required steps for the transfer process, including unlocking the domain and providing the necessary EPP/Auth code. However, the transfer process was repeatedly delayed, and I was advised to wait.
At that time, I did not realize how valuable and recognizable the domain had become. Later, I discovered that the domain was no longer under my control and is now listed for sale on a major domain resale platform for $6,295 USD.
A domain that originally cost only a few dollars to register and approximately $15 per year to maintain is now being offered for thousands of dollars. This is not only a financial issue; it involves the identity, reputation, and digital presence of a business built over many years.
I am not making direct accusations against any specific party. However, concerns regarding domain ownership disputes, transfer complications, expired domain acquisitions, and questionable practices within the domain industry are not new. Domain registrars and service providers have a responsibility to ensure the security and protection of their customers' digital assets.
I strongly condemn this incident and call for strict accountability and appropriate action against any individuals, organizations, or networks involved in domain misappropriation, unethical acquisition, or profiting from customers' digital assets. Holding a company's brand identity, years of hard work, and digital presence hostage and then offering it for sale at thousands of dollars is completely unacceptable. Such practices undermine trust, fairness, and the fundamental rights of legitimate domain owners.
To fellow business owners, entrepreneurs, and website operators: regularly monitor your domain status, renewal dates, WHOIS information, registrar account security, and transfer settings. Losing a domain is not merely losing a website—it can mean losing years of branding, trust, and digital identity.
