Paula Scher explains that presenting a logo is not just about showing a design, it is about teaching. When you present an identity, you are doing two things at once. You are including the client in the process and collaborating with them, while also translating their ideas into something visually clear and meaningful.

Clients are not trained to see design the way designers are. That is not their role. Your role is to guide their vision and help them understand what they are looking at. This means your presentation should not just focus on the final logo, but on explaining how and why it works. You are essentially breaking down your design decisions in a way that makes them accessible.

A strong presentation demonstrates the logic behind the design. You explain the choice of shapes, colors, and structure, and show how the logo will function in real situations. Through this process, the client begins to understand how their brand is being visually expressed.

If a client does not understand the design, it does not mean they are incapable. It means the presentation was not effective enough. As a designer, you have the ability to see what others cannot, but your responsibility is to make them see it too.

লোগো ডিজাইন নিয়ে পড়ালেখা — সিজন ০১, পর্ব ০১
আজকের গল্পটা শুরু করি একটা প্রশ্ন দিয়ে
লোগো কি শুধু সুন্দর হওয়ার জন্য, নাকি কাজ করার জন্য?
আজকের শেখাটা এসেছে Paula Scher–এর কাছ থেকে, Skillshare-এর Dynamic Brand Identity: Designing Logos That Evolve ক্লাসে। উনি বলেন—একটা identity simple হওয়া দরকার, কারণ এটাকে আসলে খুব complex কাজ করতে হয়।
প্রথমে এই কথাটা একটু অদ্ভুত লাগে। আমরা সাধারণত ভাবি simple মানে কম effort, কম design। একটা line, একটা box, একটা circle—এগুলো কি আসলেই strong design হতে পারে? অনেক student এখানেই ভুল বোঝে। তাদের মনে হয় designer হয়তো যথেষ্ট কাজ করেনি।
কিন্তু Paula Scher ব্যাখ্যা করেন, আসল শক্তিটা simplicity-র ভেতরেই থাকে। একটি ভালো identity system বাইরে থেকে যতই simple দেখাক, এটি ভেতরে ভীষণ dynamic। এটি move করে, adapt করে, evolve করেএবং সময়ের সাথে সাথে brand-এর complex message গুলো communicate করে।
অন্যদিকে, যদি একটি logo শুরু থেকেই খুব ornate বা overly detailed হয়, তাহলে সেটাকে extend করা কঠিন হয়ে যায়। কারণ যখনই এর সাথে নতুন কিছু যোগ করা হয়, designটা ধীরে ধীরে এত busy হয়ে যায় যে এটি তার মূল কাজটাই ঠিকভাবে করতে পারে না।
Paula Scher–এর এই insight থেকে আজকের শেখা খুব পরিষ্কার
simplicity মানে কম design না, বরং smart এবং strategic design।
একটা ভালো logo শুধু দেখতে সুন্দর না, এটি কাজ করে, evolve করে, এবং সময়ের সাথে brand-কে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যায়।

আমি শুরু করলাম user research দিয়ে। শেষ করলাম ৩টি concept দিয়ে। তিনি একটা বেছে নিলেন প্রথম দেখাতেই।

একটা লোগো ডিজাইন এক ধাপে হয়ে যায় না। এটা আসলে একটা চলমান প্রসেসের ছোট্ট অংশ। এর আগে অনেক ধাপ পার হয়েছি, সামনে আরও কিছু ধাপ বাকি। ধীরে ধীরে, ঠিকভাবে কাজ করতে করতেই একটা পুরো লোগো আর ব্র্যান্ডিং তৈরি হয়।
স্কেচের এই স্টেপটাই সবচেয়ে ভালো লাগে😻 , কারণ এখানেই আইডিয়াগুলো প্রথম প্রাণবন্ত হয়, আস্তে আস্তে শেপ নিতে শুরু করে।

The name comes from Trip + Magic, so I tried to blend smart systems with smooth, effortless travel. I kept it clean and text-based, with subtle plane motion and a small spark detail to hint at speed and innovation without overcomplicating it.
Goal was to make it feel modern, premium, and trustworthy for an enterprise-level SaaS product.
