A few years ago, this entire tool category didn't exist. Now it's becoming as standard as Google Analytics. ๐Ÿค–

Think about it: how do you measure a click? Easy- that's been solved for 20 years.

Now ask: how do you measure a mention inside a ChatGPT answer? Or whether Perplexity cited your brand instead of your competitor? Or how often Gemini even knows you exist?

A few years ago, no tool was built for that question. Now it has a whole industry.

Otterly.ai. Rankscale. HubSpot AEO. Ahrefs Brand Radar. Purpose-built to track one thing: whether your brand actually shows up in AI-generated answers, or goes invisible while your competitors get quoted by name.

Google Analytics told you who clicked. These tools tell you who got cited, even when nobody clicked at all.

If you're not tracking AI visibility yet, you're not behind on a trend. You're missing the entire scoreboard.

Backlinks used to be SEO's currency. In 2026, AI doesn't care about your links.๐Ÿ‘€

For two decades, the game was simple: earn more backlinks, climb higher, win the click. Entire agencies were built on it.

Generative engines just broke that game.

There's no ranking position to fight for anymore. No #1 spot. AI doesn't hand out positions; it hands out answers, pulled from wherever it trusts enough to cite.

Which means the real currency isn't links. It's mentions.

Getting talked about on trusted sites. Getting referenced by name in articles, forums, and comparisons. Getting cited as the source AI trusts enough to quote, even without a link back.

The brands winning in AI search aren't the ones with the most backlinks. They're the ones AI keeps mentioning, everywhere, by name.

Stop chasing links. Start earning mentions.

E-E-A-T used to be optional. In 2026, AI won't cite you without it. ๐Ÿ‘€

For years, Google treated E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) as a suggestion. Nice to have. Not a dealbreaker.

That era is over.

AI engines now verify expertise automatically before they'll ever cite a source. No credibility signal, no citation. No citation, no visibility. It's that simple.

This isn't a ranking factor anymore; it's a hard gate. AI isn't asking "does this page have the right keywords?" It's asking, "does this source actually know what it's talking about, and can I trust it enough to put my name behind it?"

Real authors. Verifiable credentials. Original expertise. First-hand experience. Consistent, trustworthy publishing history. These aren't nice-to-haves anymore; they're the entry ticket to AI search visibility.

If your content can't prove it's credible, AI won't just rank you lower. It won't mention you at all.

Alex Hormozi said, โ€œBeating 99% of people is simple but not easy.โ€

Show up.
Follow up.
Prepare.
Deliver value.
Learn from mistakes.
Stay consistent.
Follow the plan.

Simple? Yes.
Easy? Not always.

The basics become powerful when you do them consistently.

What would you add to the list? ๐Ÿ‘‡

Everyone's panicking about losing traffic to AI. Nobody's talking about the traffic they're actually gaining. ๐Ÿ‘€

Yes, AI search sends fewer visitors than Google used to. But the ones who do show up are a completely different breed of visitor.

ChatGPT referrals convert at 14.2 to 15.9%, compared to just 1.76% for Google organic traffic. That's a 9x gap. Separately, Semrush found AI search visitors convert at 4.4x the rate of traditional organic visitors.

Think about why. AI already answered their questions, compared their options, and narrowed the field before they ever clicked. They're not browsing anymore; they're arriving ready to act.

So the real story isn't "AI is stealing my traffic." It's "the traffic I do get is worth 9x more."

Fewer visitors. Far better buyers. That's not a loss; that's a trade most brands should be begging for.

Throwback to our September Monthly Retreat. ๐Ÿ–ค

On 20 September, Team NEO Index AI took a little break from the screens, deadlines, and endless work chats and headed to Xinxian Restaurant for our monthly retreat.

Good food. Great conversations. A lot of laughs. And yesโ€ฆ the bill was expensive enough to make us question our life choices ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’ธ

But honestly, these moments matter.

We work together every day, but getting everyone around the same table hits differently. Itโ€™s a chance to celebrate the month, talk beyond work, recharge, and remember that behind every project is a team of real people.

September: checked. โœ…
Team: recharged. โœ…
Next month: whatโ€™s next? ๐Ÿ‘€

Same team. Bigger dreams.

Everyone's talking about llms.txt. Almost nobody's checking if it works. ๐Ÿ‘€

The pitch sounds perfect: add one file, tell AI models what you're about, get "read" by ChatGPT, Claude, and every other crawler out there.

Here's the twist nobody's posting about:

๐Ÿ“ˆ llms.txt adoption among top-10k sites grew 5x in a year
๐Ÿ“‰ 97% of those files get zero AI crawler requests

Most brands that raced to add one are being ignored by the exact bots it was built for. GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot mostly skip the file and crawl the HTML directly instead.

Meanwhile, Shopify quietly rolled it out to millions of stores by default, no announcement, no opt-in.

So is llms.txt the future of AI visibility, or just this decade's meta-keywords tag? The honest answer: it depends less on the file and more on whether your content is built to be cited.

One file won't save a site AI can't already trust.

We often find ourselves focused on daily deadlines and required tasks and activities, and a retreat was much appreciated ๐Ÿ‘€.

There is nothing better than real-life conversations, laughter, and dreaming up great ideas around a fine meal.

So thankful for this team- it's a lot more fun to work with folks who you enjoy working with.

SEO and GEO sound like cousins. They're not even in the same family. ๐Ÿ‘€

SEO plays the ranking game: climb to #1, win the click. GEO plays a different game entirely: get quoted inside the answer, whether or not anyone clicks through.

Here's why that matters right now:

ChatGPT hit 900 million weekly active users by February 2026, more than double the 400 million it had a year earlier
Google's Gemini app crossed 750 million monthly users

That's not a niche audience. That's a huge, fast-growing chunk of how people discover brands, and none of it runs on "rank #1."

SEO asks: did I show up on the page?
GEO asks: did the AI trust me enough to say my name?

Two different scoreboards. Two different playbooks. Most brands are still only optimizing for one of them.

If your content isn't built to be cited, quoted, and referenced by AI, you're not losing the GEO game. You're not even playing it.

68% of Google searches now end without a single click. ๐Ÿ‘€

Not because people stopped searching, but because AI now answers the question directly on the page, before anyone even scrolls down to a blue link.

Here's where it gets spicy:

๐Ÿ“‰ Show up in an AI Overview but DON'T get mentioned by name โ†’ your organic clicks drop 61%
๐Ÿ“ˆ Get cited inside that same AI Overview โ†’ you gain 35% more organic clicks AND 91% more paid clicks

Same search. Same page. Two completely different outcomes, all riding on one thing: does the AI even know your brand exists?

Ranking #1 used to be the finish line. Now it's barely the starting point.

The real question for every brand in 2026 is simple: are you the answer AI is giving people, or the website nobody visits anymore?

Get cited. Or get skipped. There's not really a third option anymore.
